Well miracles never cease, Tom is actually building a new module

I'm from the year 2349. Tom Atkinson's descendants became too powerful in the ways of Lego and took over the world. The future is fine, but the chances of stepping on a Lego are 100 million times greater

My son is 4 and recently discovered GBC! He loves it! Are there printable instructions or sets for any of the modules? I'd love to encourage his interest but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks! We've loved watching all the different modules and shows

Guys, when you film those things, have balls ready to drop into the empty ones.

A 2-way bridge module would be a good idea for connecting separate layouts with several hundred modules each.
I'm thinking a good idea for a workshop module would be a dual stepper with the first slowed down by an equal amount to how many balls are transferred with the second one being perpendicular to the first and working through the line one by one in time for the next set to fill the space.
Another idea would be to have ramps, belts, or something else under the Balldozer space with gaps in the corners for the balls to go through and continue on, or a set of lifts to bring the balls back from the other corners.

There are some very cool modules in between!
But like he said: the fancier a mechanic the higher the risk of jamming during the day.
Ah, that would make a great hobby when I'm retired... *dream*

How much regular maintenance is acceptable? I've had this idea in the back of my head for a motorless mechanism that would need to be reset every now and then because it's using potential energy stored in a weight... Think an old clock that needs to be wound, but more regularly because it's doing more.

Just wondering, if I were to build a module that utilized hobby servos and an Atmel microcontroller in the design along with LEGO-compatible mounts, would that be allowed?

I would like to see an in-depth video about this module at th-cam.com/video/Z2i5l9y07aM/w-d-xo.html I want to know why there are so many gears there! And the GBC will look gorgeous with glow-in-the-dark balls.

The ball carrier is moving on an epicycloid / planetary gear around the central 40T sun gear,..
but there is extra stuff in the background that rhythmically adds to & subtracts from the ball carrier's rotation, causing it to pause at the load / unload parts of its cycle.

  • @Tehnub33

the guy running the monorail should have shortened that track. the GBC comes to a dead halt after. I feel bad for everyone one that came after.

Lego doesn't even continue to sell the balls that GBCs rely on to provide free advertising for what can be done with Lego.
I just saw some arse on eBay selling 50 small plastic Lego GBC balls for £100 (!)
