Do NOT put real-estate into any kind of IRA. Why? Because you cannot put an IRA into a trust, and you lose all kinds of legal protections and tax benefits
Here's a tip, if you can get $30k+ in a Roth IRA after age 60; you MAY be able to day trade it tax free! Some brokers allow you to trade intraday with a Roth (if not, swing trades are good; I don't like uncontrollable overnight volitility and I'm not a fan of morning volitility either.) This is only for those who are good at it, if not good at day trading; then just work a job or run a business and sock it away in SP500.

Check out moving your 401K into a ROTH IRA. Remember, Robert always says don't say "I cannot", ask "How CAN I?". You'll find out that you can!

So, I could use my self directed IRA to start a business and then all the business earnings are tax free? Isn’t this what Peter Thiel did when he started PayPal and he earned $4B tax free? The IRS tried to sue him and lost their case.
Do NOT put real-estate into any kind of IRA. Why? Because you cannot put an IRA into a trust, and you lose all kinds of legal protections and tax benefits

Here's a tip, if you can get $30k+ in a Roth IRA after age 60; you MAY be able to day trade it tax free! Some brokers allow you to trade intraday with a Roth (if not, swing trades are good; I don't like uncontrollable overnight volitility and I'm not a fan of morning volitility either.) This is only for those who are good at it, if not good at day trading; then just work a job or run a business and sock it away in SP500.

I think they're referring specifically to precious metals owned in your retirement account; they have to be held by a third party custodian the same way you can't live in or use a property in your IRA

I'm a couple years away from retirement and watching my IRA dwindle. I don't want to take it out and suffer the tax burden, I thought a SDIRA might afford me an opportunity to invest in things making money or at least not losing money.

1st, we all took a drop in ‘22, 2nd, hopefully you didn’t panic and sell while mot was down, 3rd, pls learn the lesson and readjust your investment so that mkt drops don’t make you crazy. Study, study, study…lots of books out there, financial advisors, etc that can help. TH-cam IS NOT the place to take true lessons and decision…only guidance. TH-camrs are always hustling for money
Also, I believe when you have real estate in a SDIRA, you can’t use any outside money for repairs, etc. it all has to come from IRA money.

What does it matter if Imraan is muslim? This is economics, it has nothing to do with ones faith. The only possible intersection I could see would be the usury of the central banking, fractional reserve, fiat system, but no one can escape that though crypto is making a valient effort.
