Whole song is in 4/4 at 76bpm, but they are often switching between quintuplets and septuplets. Crazy stuff.
They're mainly switching between septuplets and quintuplets, also some eights and sixes in there
Its a wonderful! And mans who creative this very talanted....yesterday,i play on GEM G6PCM...oh my lord....)))
Heck yes! Magnificent!
What incredible tempo switchups! Episodic freeform jazz to add to the mixture....superb. What more can you ask for?
Sooooo cool!
Love this! Such great musicianship! All class acts! Some of those runs were crazy, wow! Always great to see Henrik! I really enjoyed that! Thank you! 🤗
Hey there KK!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Jeff is spot on and Made me reflect that A travel can be described as a combination of accelerations and decelerations in many directions. Then, rythm means speed and this rythm changes are accelerations and decelerations. Listening to this music is Traveling without moving.
Yes!
Thank you! This one is so good!
Amazing playing in this!
Thanks, Jeff. Love it! Underneath all the polyrhythms the tune is actually in 4/4. Here's a transcription of the piano to illustrate it. th-cam.com/video/81LYXqHChT8/w-d-xo.html
Eldar, Henrik, and Matt………oh my! Eldar came into my life decades ago when he was a mere wunderkind, brilliant beyond his years but far less disciplined. As someone who can never get enough of Dirty Loops, it never surprises me that Henrik is the go-to bassist for the best of the best. I hadn't heard of Gem as an entity unto itself as I rarely see side projects by such musical luminaries as these three have a group name. Is this from an album? I think of the EP Turbo, the Dirty Loops/Cory Wong collab., which was just that, a collaboration featuring the two groups. Do you know anything about that? As always, thanks for exposing the internet to this level of talent!
I’m not sure about how GEM all came about. What a line up in this group.
Jeff... Yes, you were hearing a synth track... & some of the piano was double tracked...
Like being showered by a wonderfully wild waterfall! Thanx, cheer joy Jeff!😍
😄yes!👏
I totally forgot about this “gem” - how could I?!🙈😅 It is so beautiful and feels like a kinda time travel to me - well, in fact it is😄😉, but it is so enjoyable, and they are soooo good, phew!🤯🤯🤯🌈✨☺️. Thank you for making this fine reaction to it/them👍🏼🤗.
Hahaha time travel! 😃👏👏👏
@@StrateleStudios Yeah😃. Actually the title “Torque” is pretty spot on re. my experience of it, too …. and with the push/pull♾️, motion at various speeds and yet the feeling of staying at the same power spot ….. now thinking of when my lovely husband is fiddling with and fixing a motor/engine🚙🧐😅👍🏼😃🥰.
Another great choice and reaction. From now on, Blind Faith in you. Oh, no, not the band: literally!... :) Greetings, Jeff.
Hahaha 😊😊😊🫶
Hyper Jazz...
Yes! 😄
I watched this a few times and memorized the patterns and time changes. It’s just my language I guess and I love it dearly 🫶🏻
