Seeing Jeff go speechless about his buck shows you how much hunting means to people. What a big and beautiful buck killed by the young hunter! And I agree when it comes to drives, it’s a team effort and I feel all those deer are really everyone’s involved. Looked like some good, clean, hard earned fun.

Yup especially when you have been hunting for years and years and never got a buck like that. It almost gets boring getting 2 year olds and an occasional 3 year old. Hunting down the old ones really makes a different feeling.

Nice to see the young fella get a nice buck! I'm happy young men like him are still into hunting. You couldn't have tied me down well enough to keep me out of the woods during deer season when I was a kid. It's sad to see so many kids wanting nothing to do with the outdoors today. My 3 year old watches hunting videos with me all the time. I think she'll be in the woods with daddy one day. For right now she thinks the deer will come after her and bite her though 😂😂

I have learned a lot from you through the videos you post. Anybody that gets the chance to hunt with Dan is doubly blessed. Not easy going through that brush but the rewards can be great. I watched 3 hunters walk around a large brush pile in the middle of a field . From my stand @200 yds away I watched a very nice buck put his head down and let them go by. He stayed there till dark.

Ooooh I'd love to take care of those beavers! Love seeing these deer drive videos, there's only 3 of us left in our group and it's sad to say but once my grandpa goes, I'm sure our days of deer drives will too. Keep the traditions alive!

Well guys I do have to say I saw this crew come down the trail. It wasn’t the last deer they pushed that day! I couldn’t get my scope on a small 6point as it ran across the field between us.
I ran out quick back in the woods after the packer game for the first time this year and almost had my deer. I shared congrats especially since they said it was the boys kill! They were happy to see me out there too and encouraged me to keep hunting and what we are all about. Keep these kinds of positive interactions between all us hunters as it’s all our land that has been given to us and protected by our brothers and sisters who have fought for us! Thanks for the video!
Agreed. Would have been great for you to get that one but your kind of attitude is about the brotherhood of being a hunter and was much appreciated. Good luck the rest of the year!
Awesome seeing the little guy get a nice buck! We need more young people to get into hunting. The drop in hunter numbers saddens me, especially the lack of youngsters. All I can think about is how much character hunting builds in young people. Patience and grit sitting for hours in the cold and the hard work of deer drives. And the most important part, time with family, friends and my Father. Hunting used to be a family affair--Unfortunately, my group has dwindled to just 3. I find myself longing for how things used to be and I'm glad others are keeping the tradition alive.
As someone who didn't get the courtesy this year, thank you for waiting for other hunters to leave before driving an area! Congrats on your success!

I think it's really funny , zeke is so popular that most of the time no one knows my real name, they just call me zekes dad haha. My name is James, my son is zeke. Dan didn't even know my name till day 2 of the hunt haha

I've had great time driving deers here in ny . Been about 7 or little longer since I've done that. Have lot of memories from when I was kid to a grown up. Miss those days doing deer drives. Like said everyone in hunting aways excited when someone get deer. I love watching these video's Dan !! Thanks for sharing them!!

I miss deer drives. I dont know if i could do those cattails everyday though. I have pushed cattails before as a kid but man it was not as wet as the stuff you guys do. I still do drives occasionally but not every year and limited amount off people. Trying to get even 2-4 extra people is a struggle and usually end up with 3 guys total. Hard to do drives with 3 people where most cases we need at least 6
i ran into james and joe saturday on my way in for evening stand. good guys! i havent seen squat in this area for 5 days

Yeah Dan, I grew up Hudson, Eau Claire, Marshfield, then moved to STP Mn, started hunting 2003, came to hunting back Wisconsin close to HIway 10, 2 years ago

Opening day in PA tomorrow . Always great to go on a rifle hunt but Dan is right archery hunts are Def the way to go. Be safe out there . The one day nature hunters will be out in full strength 🦌

We hunt the same way but are limited to shotguns with three shots.or muzzle loaders.

Drives are a great way to push deer off a property and screw up the rest of the season.

That was the scariest example of just shooting into the brush omg
The view from a gopro is different than you actually see... Its panned way back and makes the brush up close look thicker and bigger and makes the stuff out further look farther. Those shots were 40 to 50 yards with a good background.
I agree. There was no way the hunter was taking proper aim at the deer's vitals in that situation.
Was that a stray bullet that hit the grass not far in front of the camera at 25:10?
