    Dan I can't thank you enough!!! The night before gun season, I noticed mud on the cattails going back to a rubbed up bedding area in black brush. I set a stand came back their opening morning, and shot the biggest buck in my life! #5 since i found you!

    My favorite part of the entire system behind your scouting and hunting, is that the only requirements are two legs and some time doing homework. No cell cams or technology needed

    Been hunting mid michigan for nearly 60yrs. Always listened to the old timers when they were talking deer. One of the things that I found that helped me be successful was to spend time in the woods and KNOW your area! Alot of younger hunters are wasting time watching these videos that are well, less than REAL. Too worried about fancy new camo, bows, broadheads and backpacks full of the latest toys. Naming your TARGET buck and talking g2's over cases of beer isn't going to put him on the wall either. Very good video and advice 👍. I learn something new every year .

    Thanks brother! Always learning from you. Love how you're willing to share your knowledge. Knowledge that makes you one of the best whitetail hunters out there. And thank you for validating me on the buck tracking insight. Been telling people that for years. And very few believed what I was telling them. Even had one joker, who counter dicted me, on a TH-cam site. Saying, "It was scientifically provin, you can't distinguish the tracks, between a buck and a doe". I just laughed at him, and said you can believe what you want. What a funnel head!!! Anyways, always enjoy your stuff Dan. Keeper her coming!🤔😉

    I can not stress how Dan's videos capture the ABCs of hunting. Most things on youtube are of guys checking their 20 cameras...We can fall into a trap where we are spending our field time screwing around with gizmos and missing out being in the right tree, at the right time, hunting the right buck. Keep it simple and scout...👍

    I wonder how long a buck will be spooked out of a bed area after walking through it and leaving scent ?

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most of the beds I look at for hunting at this time of year are from last year. The deer are not bedded there now. And on the rare few that are, they get spooked from beds by shed hunters, rabbit hunters, coyotes, etc. occasionally. There is no place where they never smell humans.

    • @ReturntoNatureSkills
      @ReturntoNatureSkills 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thehuntingbeast I wonder if I spook a deer that’s currently bedded in that area, but not enter the bed, how long do you think until it returns. Low hunting pressure other than me.

    Dan love your videos . Watch them for hours . Have many questions for you but if you could answer this one . I’m living in eastern Canada not a lot of deer . But would deer here or in most of north America typically bed in the type of terrain you look for beds? Swamps, open grass areas , marshes etc . I’m having had time finding bedding areas here . Thanks

    Dan it seems like your not thinking that the 2 and 3 year old will be 3 4 next season????? If the rub looks like he's a 120 2 year old then 150 3 year old??? At least that's how I look at it when iam scouting this time of year

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, if he was not shot or hit by a car he will be a year older... However, different age classes bed in different bedding areas and you need to make sure your not hunting a nursery, and that your hunting the nursing home instead...
