question tho: where do you think you got your sense of what should “come next” in a beat? Obviously there are prerequisites for certain genres (like you know you need drums, chords, and instruments to fill out the different registers and stuff), but beyond that, is it just exposure to the specific genre of the beat that your making that develops your musical sense of what “must” come next, or is it just whatever you think would sound cool?
I guess I’m asking because I often can come up with a decent musical idea, but am unsure what else to add, or what should come next, or how to better support that idea. thanks 🙏

Yes! I think exposing urself to the genre and really asking what makes my songs different from others is really important. U gotta keep experimenting but also be objective to see if what u create is something u urself would listen to
