- The Alpine A110 is a car that certainly will turn heads with its signature look, ferocious noise and exceptional driving experience. Despite still being the new kid on the block, the A110 has a very rich history!
The A110 goes all the way back to 1962 where it was at the forefront of the racing world. In 2023, it still remains apart of the elite within the motor industry and is a car definitely not to be looked over!

My dream car.
Have owned mine for just over a year and must say it really is something special , the design and engineering team really put in a massive effort ! Thanks for the review ! - cheers from Brisbane
Best car I have ever owned.
I ordered an A110 in December, I am going to take delivery in about 3 weeks' time. I used to live in the North West of England and frequently went to Wales for a nice drive on weekends, and I had a lot of fun even in conventional front wheel drive cars. I wish I could do it now with the A110! Mind you, I live in Tuscany now so it's not too bad 😅
I hope you enjoy your new car!! Wales is just the perfect place for a fun weekend drive 🥳
How is the Alpine? I've been driving Alfa's for 20 years and thinking of changing my Stelvio Veloce for a Giulia Quad or an Alpine GT?
@@twds01 I have only had it since the 16th of June, but as soon as I got inside and drove home I realised how much different it was from anything else I have ever driven. I also own a Megane IV GT, that despite being only a warm hatch has 4 wheel steering and feels a lot sharper than any other front engined car I have tried in my life, but the Alpine is a completely different ball game. The lightness is evident from the moment you get out of the parking lot, the level of grip in corners is insane, and the steering feel is sublime. It just turns in so quickly and easily, and it follows any imperfection on the road surface giving you plenty of confidence. I absolutely adore it.
As far as I am concerned, having also driven an S, the difference cannot really be felt on public roads - the S is really jiggly on imperfections, whilst the standard A110 feels more compliant. The GT is probably the sweet spot between having more power available and the "soft" setup of the standard A110, and I would have chosen that version if it weren't for Italy's idiotic hp taxes, that come into play from 252 hp upwards (funnily enough, that is the exact power of the standard A110). If I had chosen a GT, I would have to pay 1600 euros a year in road tax, whilst with the standard A110 it is "only" 600 euros. The difference is huge, and I don't think those 50 extra hp are worth the extra expenses. Also, I don't think you really need them on the road... 50% throttle in the A110 already feels faster than full throttle on the 205 hp Megane GT, that is not a slow car in any way, shape or form - and immediately becomes too fast for a public road at full throttle. 252 hp is more than enough to have fun, mainly because the fun factor comes from the agility in corners, not from the power.
Funnily enough I had also considered a Giulia, although not the Quadrifoglio. The purchase price was way too high for me, and the aforementioned hp taxes would mean a road tax of about 5000 euros a year - absolute madness. I considered the 280 hp Giulia, but the Alpine is just so much more special and it is less expensive to run, so it was a relatively easy choice for me (Although I must say the Giulia is probably the prettiest car on sale these days!)
@@alessiod.c. Thank you for the reply. Think I’ll need to test drive both. I’ve spent a lot of time in Tuscany (got married there), so I can see the benefit of having an extremely light and compact A110. Enjoy driving it!
@@twds01 my pleasure! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get married in Tuscany? I live in a town between Siena and Florence, only a few kilometres from San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. There are a couple of roads that go from San Gimignano to Colle di Val d'Elsa, one of them is amongst my favourite driving roads - there's SP36 that is the quickest and most trafficked of the two, then there's SP47 which takes the long way round and is absolutely mind blowing. There are sections both up and downhill, fast sweeping bends and narrow hairpins, and is usually empty for kilometres. If you come back, you must try that road. You will not be disappointed!
I must say that Italy as a country has huge flaws, but the fact I was born in Tuscany sort of makes up for the negatives.
I own this GT version and it’s the best car I’ve ever had and driven! How can a French car perform so well on UK B roads!
Bruv looks like a young Shaun Ryder
Absolute beaty and pure sport car
Excellent review one of the best I’ve seen and what a gem of a car different to your usual suspects it stands out and they are rare. The size, price, and the design make it the perfect sports car for the 21st century.
Thank you very much!! As for the car it is a thing of beauty!!
Fantastic review and sure from everything I have read the Alpine is a great choice. I have just taken delivered of Porsche 4.0 GTS this week and the car is everything I hoped for..Just got to run it in now for 1k miles. Would really love to meet an Alpine owner who would certainly be a petrolHead like me and compare notes. No bad choices here..Just fascinating comparison between two fantastic choices
@@phildarbyshire1496I could but I'm in Spain, although mine is a base Alpine a110, the even comparison for yours in that price range would be the R, at least in my country
This is the 2nd review of this car I'm watching, but none is showing the engine... Why, is it sealed? 😢
I thought Snowdonia is in Wales, so you only need an electric bicycle to go about with a 20mph speed limit. I expect everyone entering Wales from England just parks their car and gets a bicycle out of the back to continue on their way.
I wish they sold them in the United States.
It's reminiscent of cheap old Renault Dauphins
My first car was a Renault Dauphine Gordini and I have just picked up an Alpine A110 which could well be my last car 😂
very small trunk
Very fast car
Very small car.
Surprising how much you can get in the 2 boots!
