I remember I was a super hard worker before I worked as an Amazon driver. They would promise a bonus but if too many people got the bonus they would make the rules to follow harder. They had around 40 stats they recorded us on and if any of them were underperformed they would take away the bonus. The bonus was around 80 dollars. They also promised you could get out early if you finish early and they would pay you for the full 10 hour day. This was a lie beccause if you got out an hour early today you could expect 2 hours of extra work tomorrow. Also I got bullied everyday for being trans on top of the horrible work conditions. So yeah this job destroyed my mental health pretty bad. People started calling me lazy after I stopped working so hard or for being reluctant to get back into the work force while I work on my mental health. This is true but......someone has to do these things. Maybe its not necessarily the tasks themselves but how we perform them and more importantly how we treat eachother.
agree! i think a lot of people wouldn’t mind doing a lot of the work that is necessary if it was set up differently and employment didn’t feel so rigid and draining
Your point is fair, the problem is not the having to work but how work is managed, its just so much different working like a slave for something that nobody really needs than working for something that really is needed and you will actually gain whats fair from it, does not mean some jobs are really hard but necessary, in general its complicated but one thing is sure and its that we need to change how our society works
1000% agree. i think people take my jokes too seriously and think i mean nobody should be working and work shouldn’t exist. i feel the exact same way that you do
Massive resources of time and study have gone into conflating labor with the form its taken over the past century or so. Its not just artificial, but the form it takes is extremely deliberate, and every aspect of life is about one thing.... Itll be hard to grasp but, you should know your enemy. Read what they themselves write about their philosophies, how they sculpted their legacies, etc etc. That one thing its about...its about 'Control'. ....actually very sad, and maddening, to watch people resist tyranny, immorality, corruption, etc in one aspect of life, and defend it literally to the death in another.
so true, it’s all by design. like how we’re forced to work under the pressure of going homeless but yet conveniently some states have and/or are trying to make homelessness illegal so they can incarcerate us and make us work free labor to the state. and then i get comments all the time of people trying to defend this system and the exploitative work force 😂
@@SunnieTreereal. as a homeless person, i fully understand my position in life is intentional and designed into society. homelessness and poverty is SUPPOSED to happen, and when i realized that i lost my ability to care about working a traditional job anymore. if i'm forced to live by making money, it's going to be on MY terms, or i will die trying. i'm not going to compromise my self worth and moral values any longer, and at this point and in this society that looks like choosing to stay homeless 🙄 i'll happily claim i'm choosing this life if it makes people realize the alternative is deadly for some.
This doesn't entirely apply to me. I'm often "lazy" or demotivated, eventhough I LIKE doing my work. I WANT to get stuff done, because it sustains me and I find my work fulfilling. I just... still don't do it, eventhough I have time. I have ADD, that mental energy to do work just lacks in me too often.
Your absolutely right that work can suck, but we have tried systems where people put in just the amount of work they want to. It doesnt work, unfortunately. We should make the basics in life easier so that the amount of work people put in more closely matches what they want to contribute, but we can't go all of the way. At least not yet. Maybe with advances in AI one day we can have luxury automated space communism (think Star Trek), but thats far in the future. In the current world with the current level of technology everyone who can has to work. Maybe we only need a 20 hour week, i dont know, but we need something. We dont then things would simply decay around us. Maintaining streets and government programs and whatnot takes money. Even if you taxed the rich as draconian rates it wouldnt be enough to let everyone go without work.
totally fair! i honestly don’t know how a less work based society would work unless we had more technological advancements but i’m sure there’s a happy medium, cause some jobs are needed otherwise society would collapse
Lazyness does exist. Maybe not to the extent that people are generally used to, but when you are at a point where you don't want to do anything and don't want to figure out the reason why, you are being lazy. Lazy is not a bad thing, it's something that we do sometimes to recover energy that we lack, it's frowned upon being lazy because the standard is being efficient and productive. So I am being lazy for going out with friends, or to play a game, or to take a nap. Then yes, I am lazy sometimes, it is what it is. I understand that being called lazy effectively removes your motivation to improve your life, whether that's physically or mentally, because you skip the step of figuring out why you don't want to do all these things that you're supposed to. But it's not that laziness doesn't exist, it's just that there is a reason for being lazy, and it is up to you to figure out why you feel lazy. (Not necessarily on your own)
i appreciate you hearing my opinion and respectfully sharing yours☺️❤️ i personally disagree and to my core believe all laziness is “wanting to avoid suffering” “being burnt out” “having symptoms of mental illness” etc. i like thinking this way because when you know the reason behind your behavior you can fix it. i think i could’ve articulated that better in the video, people seem to think i’m just like “you’re not lazy, do nothing! bed rot!”😂
@@SunnieTree I just see being lazy in a similar manner as I see being scared. There's nothing wrong with either of them, it just takes effort and courage to be able to do the tasks or face your fears. Being lazy isn't about when you don't have the energy, or you're tired, it's more about when you just don't want to do the boring tasks that are, in fact, boring, sometimes obnoxious and you just want to leave it for later, and you will eventually do them, but sometimes you get a little lazy, which is fine. (I'm not talking about not being able to do tasks due to mental conditions like ADHD and other similar things)
My brother calls me "lazy" all the time, and I'm sick of it. I'm currently unemployed, but I can't force myself to spend all day every day filling out job applications like my brother thinks I should.
@@SunnieTree My brother has a very mentally taxing job (as a lawyer), but he thinks that I should be able to handle the same level of stress that he can.
My take is... That actually, work is quite fun. But not if it is for the wrong reasons. And avoiding the label of laziness is the wrong reason. I think every generation has to learn this again and again because each generation forgets the core purpose of what we are doing here. We aren't doing things because "that's what you do". That's a stupid reason. It's hard to tell why we do things, so perhaps its wise to stop doing them for a while and see what happens. The pointless things just never need to be done again. The useful things become obvious.
i keep saying this; but i wish i would’ve been clearer in the video. the reason for not calling yourself lazy is because if you don’t call yourself lazy, you get to the root of why you aren’t doing something and you can solve the issue and then do the thing if it’s something you have to do. also i’m 100% for work as long as you enjoy what you do, i’m just against the system that makes us do jobs we hate until we die
If you feel shame for not doing the thing, then it's not laziness. However, if you're not pulling your weight in the household, like expecting your partner to do all the chores, and _don't_ feel at least a little bad about the unfair division of obligatory labour (because you're both gonna suffer if those dishes don't get cleaned), then yeah maybe you are an entitled lazy arse. But if you _do_ feel guilty about it, then there's probably a good reason you haven't fixed the situation yet, and you should probably treat that symptom ASAP, not only for your own health but also for the sake of your partner who's doing double the work!
I am depressed have been S**ci** so I get it but also if you have a goal working is how you get that goal if its financial or you want a house for instance. Or like I work because if I dont I will sit around unproductive its a luxury not to have to work. There are types of depression that thrive on sendetary and lazy behaviour. When i am productive, live an active lifestyle, making healthy decisions and being social with people I like I am happy i.e. not laying around. But burn out is a real problem doing unhappy jobs is real too.
Yes, lazy behavior can be defined as a result of lack of passion and/or enjoyment of your life. Tasks, tedious or not, still need to get done. This was true for the very first humans and is true of us living in our modern societies. The real difference is you will live through a messy house, but if you didn't force your village to relocate garbage you would end up dead or diseased. You didn't have a choice to be lazy. I think lazy definitely exists, but you don't have to judge yourself harshly if you are in fact in a state of laziness. Find passion or brute discipline or something and pursue it.
i appreciate you respectfully sharing your opinion.☺️❤️ i was a bit joke-y in the video and didn’t articulate things as clearly as i wish i did. i think that someone not willing to contribute to the health of their community isn’t lazy, just selfish and apathetic. i’m all for doing things we don’t like as long as it’s necessary for quality of life and survival. the point of not calling yourself lazy is so you understand the reasoning behind your behavior and then you can fix it if you NEED to do the thing you’re avoiding
@@SunnieTree That is honestly what I thought your reasoning was behind this video. Which is why I only disagree with you, slightly. Ultimately, I think we find common ground in that judging ourselves and/or others as lazy is not, ironically, productive. One may even say it's lazy logic. 😂
@SunnieTree Hell yes, I have a pair of bushes rn, a Cherokee Purple and a Yellow Cherry. Tomatoes have kind of sensitive temperment but with love and care it's more than worth it. Happy growing!!!
Girl I've never worked in my life and I'm still too lazy to do my chemistry homework. And I'm not depressed. I'd rather just watch femboy hentai all day. Cuz it's more fun. Laziness exists I'm sorry and discipline is an important skill.
Respectfully and fundamentally disagree. Laziness when you refuse to do the tasks that must be done. I agree with where you are coming from, but if you are not lazy you will make sure the minimum is done.
the idea of something that must be done is completely arbitrary in most cases. things like sanitation, healthcare, and childrearing are actually nessecary jobs. i'm not lazy because i don't want to flip burgers for the general public and watch most of the value of my labor go to someone else. many of the jobs people genuinely don't want to do are fundamentally pointless. if they were fulfilling and provided something of value to anyone, we wouldn't get burnt out as easily when doing those jobs. i'm also not lazy because a lack of financial and intellectual ability prevent me from having a job i could actually do
It helped me significantly when I realized my ADHD diagnosis came with motivational problems. When I felt like my work had purpose, I was so driven to get things done. Now..?
I got called lazy and stupid for thinking 16/hr for all fo this was horrible. It's all lies.
i appreciate you sharing your story and everything you felt and experienced is completely valid🫂❤️.
i also hate how they bullied you for being trans. the general public needs to learn how to have more empathy for ALL humans.
we support trans rights and LGBTQ+ rights here on this channel!🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ happy pride month❤️
i hope you’re in a better environment now and i hope the people around you are respecting and caring for you as you deserve.
sending you love❤️❤️❤️
1000% agree. i think people take my jokes too seriously and think i mean nobody should be working and work shouldn’t exist. i feel the exact same way that you do
so based! modern philosopher
HEHE THANK YOU i smiled reading this comment
@@SunnieTreereal. as a homeless person, i fully understand my position in life is intentional and designed into society. homelessness and poverty is SUPPOSED to happen, and when i realized that i lost my ability to care about working a traditional job anymore. if i'm forced to live by making money, it's going to be on MY terms, or i will die trying. i'm not going to compromise my self worth and moral values any longer, and at this point and in this society that looks like choosing to stay homeless 🙄 i'll happily claim i'm choosing this life if it makes people realize the alternative is deadly for some.
you’re my kinda person, we’re both rebellious as hell and unable to tolerate society’s bullshit💀 HIGH FIVE🙏
This doesn't entirely apply to me. I'm often "lazy" or demotivated, eventhough I LIKE doing my work.
I WANT to get stuff done, because it sustains me and I find my work fulfilling. I just... still don't do it, eventhough I have time. I have ADD, that mental energy to do work just lacks in me too often.
mental energy is a huuuge thing for me too. wishing you the best☺️❤️
The youtube algorithm works in mysterious ways. Just leaving a comment so it gets promoted even more, good luck with your channel.
genuinely so grateful for this, thank you thank you!❤️
Lazyness does exist.
(Not necessarily on your own)
that's called being tired, or as she says many times in the video, burnt out
i appreciate you hearing my opinion and respectfully sharing yours☺️❤️
i personally disagree and to my core believe all laziness is “wanting to avoid suffering” “being burnt out” “having symptoms of mental illness” etc.
i like thinking this way because when you know the reason behind your behavior you can fix it. i think i could’ve articulated that better in the video, people seem to think i’m just like “you’re not lazy, do nothing!
Thank you for the video !
thank you for watching!☺️❤️
My brother calls me "lazy" all the time, and I'm sick of it. I'm currently unemployed, but I can't force myself to spend all day every day filling out job applications like my brother thinks I should.
people underestimate just how crippling mental exhaustion can be
@@SunnieTree My brother has a very mentally taxing job (as a lawyer), but he thinks that I should be able to handle the same level of stress that he can.
As right as you are i dread the possibility that some dork is gonna come along and misconstrue everything you say
Yeah it's "right" to think it's "natural" for humans to "have fun" with a majority of their day. Fkn delusional.
they’re already here, they do it under every video LMAOO i think people take me too seriously
yay! adhd!
VALID
If you feel shame for not doing the thing, then it's not laziness. However, if you're not pulling your weight in the household, like expecting your partner to do all the chores, and _don't_ feel at least a little bad about the unfair division of obligatory labour (because you're both gonna suffer if those dishes don't get cleaned), then yeah maybe you are an entitled lazy arse. But if you _do_ feel guilty about it, then there's probably a good reason you haven't fixed the situation yet, and you should probably treat that symptom ASAP, not only for your own health but also for the sake of your partner who's doing double the work!
10000% agree, it’s a really bad show of character if you only care about you and wouldn’t do something you dislike to help people you care about.
But burn out is a real problem doing unhappy jobs is real too.
totally fair!☺️ different strokes for different folks. hope you’re feeling better and i’m glad you have a lifestyle that’s working for you❤️
The rich gained the world but lost theirselves
so true!!
Thank you, this is something everyone should understand.
for real man😎❤️
This is a great outlook on things, thanks so much for this!
you’re welcome! and thank you too☺️
You're not lazy.. but can I get my drink in a paper bag pls. thx

not sure if you mean this in a good way or a bad way BUT; 🍽️🍽️🍽️
@@SunnieTree good way. Wanted to send you something tasty
YAYY thank you!☺️🍅
Yes, lazy behavior can be defined as a result of lack of passion and/or enjoyment of your life.
🎉
thank you!!☺️❤️
Tomatoes are GREAT but you gotta grow yer own
OMG WAIT TEA i started a garden and i’m actually growing my own tomatoes currently😂😂 they’re still sprouts rn though

HELL YEAH😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Marry a rich dude. Have him do all the work for you.
nuh uh, if i get married it’s for love. i have a 6th sense that i’ll be fine financially on my own😎
Respectfully and fundamentally disagree. Laziness when you refuse to do the tasks that must be done. I agree with where you are coming from, but if you are not lazy you will make sure the minimum is done.
the idea of something that must be done is completely arbitrary in most cases. things like sanitation, healthcare, and childrearing are actually nessecary jobs. i'm not lazy because i don't want to flip burgers for the general public and watch most of the value of my labor go to someone else. many of the jobs people genuinely don't want to do are fundamentally pointless. if they were fulfilling and provided something of value to anyone, we wouldn't get burnt out as easily when doing those jobs. i'm also not lazy because a lack of financial and intellectual ability prevent me from having a job i could actually do
i appreciate you hearing me out and respectfully sharing your opinion too!☺️❤️
i hear you as well and respect your stance
