I often wonder about this. I don't know what americans learn at school, but i can see how, when living in a country this big, you already have a lot to remember. It would be like a european guy having to know most of europe's countries & capitals, i mean i do, most of them anyway, but i wouldn't say it's that common and it's not like we need it. How often an albanian guy will meet a portguese guy ? Not very often lol. I can see how an american would focus on the fucking 50 states and all the cities within them before looking somewhere else, if they know that at all. I obviously know my own country very well but it's definitely not the size of the US. But yeah, maybe your curriculum is still a bit too centered on USA ?
