    Thanks!
I learned this game by the name "shithouse saw" because you can easily play this while sitting on the toilet. Just put the discards face up under your deck. When the face-up cards are showing, it's time to start over.
We taught it to our mom who played this at her kitchen table with her coffee and cigarettes for years.
Many years later, after our mom died, I couldn't remember just how the game went and I couldn't find any information on Google under the name we learned it by.
Yup, this is just how the game went. Thanks again!

I used to play this game over 50 years ago when we were traveling on the road on 4 to 5 hour trips.
This brought back some good memories.

I use to play this all the time when I was younger. I just thought about again after getting a deck of cards which came with my sketcher shoes. I couldn't remember how to play so I looked on TH-cam. Thank you for reminding me how to play.

Hi Becky, Thank you for this video. I have not played this in years, and now I'm teaching my daughter as my mom taught me. Can you tell me if there are only 1 or 2 cards remaining in your stock pile instead of three do you play the last card in the stock pile or do you start the deck again and not play the last card if they are not in a sequence of three or do you count the last two remaining cards in your stock pile as cards one and two of your sequence of three and start the stock pile again and the top card would be your third card? Thanks so much!

I made up a variant. If you draw an Ace of
Spades, you can go thru the unmatched cards until the next unmatched ace
( if there are any). So you go thru all the cards behind the 4th card
until you find another Ace of any suit ( again, if there are any.) All
of the cards in between the Aces can then go into the discard pile
including the aces. This gives a little purpose to the cards behind the
4th card instead of them just sitting there. Plus you get a big sense of
satisfaction when you can discard 10/15 cards at a time. There's also
no guarantee that the Ace of Spades clears a bunch of cards each time
it's pulled. It's rare that it happens which gives makes the game a
    little more exciting.

We used to make sure that the first and last card would match either suit or number so it would be easier to win thats how i was taught.

If you end up with two cards that are same suit, is it a win.

thanks! so after you've taken all the cards from the back the first time the game is over? you don't keep pulling one around that's already been turned over? I had a pretty big stack left LOL!

If you end up with two cards of same suit, is that a win or not.
