Nice video. @6:45 that is what you call a head and shoulders pattern. Not a particularly big head there, but if you measure from that base line to the highest point then you have the estimated distance it'll drop below your base line. If a candle closes below that line you have confirmation it'll drop the rest of the way.
Btw, you don't have to stay out of a sideways market. That's what making an iron condor is for! An iron condor is an options strategy consisting of two puts (one long and one short) and two calls (one long and one short), and four strike prices, all with the same expiration date. The iron condor earns the maximum profit when the underlying asset closes between the middle strike prices at expiration.

The one thing missing in all these candlestick patterns is the understanding of time. Those patterns you show appear completely different in a different time-frame. Then you'd say use fractals or Supp/Res to confirm. But you wont get the same "Reversal" pattern in a different time-frame and often the opposite interpretation. So its imperative to find the time-frame that is MOST successful for your taste. So in the perfect world, not the trading world, I would say having 5 time-frame of reversal candlesticks at a resistant point, would fail the majority of the time bc by the time you get to the major time frame, its time to correct, or pullback. Today's stop losses would have to be huge.

One note to consolidation markets, they can be also profitable if there is huge volume, you are just buying at bottom range and shorting in top range and u can repeat that multiple times per hour. Even if you buy low and its getting more low, in consolidation market u are back within small time, because from more lower its still going top. Big big problem with this is, if chart breaks consolidation and it do big move top/bottom. Then u are losing all trades to opposite side, but still u should be in nice profit until this.
Reason why i am not doing this is, that you need volume for consolidation market, to have bigger range (more profit), otherwise you will jump between few pipes and it doesnt worth.

I don't really like pullback trading either. But I've found that in this spot it does help vs just getting in when you see the market hit a level. Otherwise you can be jumping in on a falling knife sometimes.

Macro candlestick patterns are only as good as the micro candlestick patterns inside them. For example a double bottom on a 1 minute chart where the bottoms are 4 minutes will look different on a 5 or 15 minute chart depending on the exact time the retest occurred withing the larger bars. It's common knowledge to look at macro time frames for the big picture but for I also look at smaller time frames.
Micro time frames are also a great way to know if you are rangebound on the timeframe you are trading. Rangebound markets are designed to take money from newbie momentum traders who have FOMO.

There are a few things to watch for.
huge wicks or tails on a candle. major rejection of price within one candle.
candles getting smaller or lots of small candles.
confused candles. big wick and tail but not much to the actual candle.
Monster candles that stop dead and the next candle immediately goes the other way. Take note of where it died. Mark that level and watch for more rejection here.
Using MAs as markers. If price is siting above an MA it means buyers are willing to pay more then the average right now.
Eventually this will stop. But the more you watch, the more you understand. It took me a while to read it. Now, oh yeah. certain stuff. $ in the bank. 99% accuracy when it happens.

@@RileyColeman understanding trends is important. understanding resistance areas is important.
all one really needs to do is trade with the trend. and the entry is after price pulls back a little and then continues back on trend. This is. The safe play.
It's not 100% accurate as all trends do end.
It's why knowing where the resistance areas are is important.
I look at H1 for my current market trend. I mark up the key levels here.
Then i drop to M15 and mark up key levels here.
Add an MA 20. And an MA 9.
      Now WAIT. Watch M5.
When it hits a rejection point and rejects. WAIT just a little longer.
Movement confirmed by price momentum your direction. Trade. To where? Last high or low is likely target. Next zone is highly likely. So if it's going up. i try to get in near the bottom zone and trade it to the top zone. This simple tactic has a goofy high win rate.

    • @MPlain
      @MPlain ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@kusumweb Time frames.
Each time frame has it's own candle chart.
One candle represents a unit of time.
It is always best to allow a candle to close before using it in your planning.
An H1 time frame is 1 hour. So each candle is 1 hour of time. M15 is 15 minutes and M5 is 5 minutes. By using the 1 hour as a guide for market direction of late we are setting up for a scalping situation. Our goal is to be in and out of the market in 15 to 45 minutes. The M15 is our master chart as these are the main levels we are watching for. But we do have the H1 levels marked on here as well and we expect them to be harder to break. There are many videos that can show you how to mark up where support is or where a trend is. Too many people consider these points utterly unbreakable. Not the case. It's just a point where the market may reject an area of price for now. This is why we must we for candles to close and show us the same information that we get from our education charts where all candles are closed. Everything is so easy on an existing chart. Ya.. try to practice your ideas live where the rabbit is running around all over the place. It's hard to hold a position when it is in profit and your profits are dying fast. It's harder to hold a position which is losing money and you are convinced it will come back to a profit. You need to have a point where you have taken enough losses and you will lose some trades. We all do.
Take your time. Open up a demo account. Get used to everything. When you are consistently winning. Then and only then put real $ in.
