The actual take-off is missed, but the latter part of it shows at 4:10. There are videos which actually show the takeoff of this remarkable amphibian.

The propeller engines as multiple advantage for such usage: faster take off and climb, "braking effect" in descend at low pitch, less consumption (better efficiency), particularly at low altitude and low speed.Jet engine are only better at high altitude and hight speed (not better at consumption, but faster)...
The tested Beriev Be 200 (who is strong powered) was found good from the French water bomber pilots, in all domains, except consumption...

This is a great video but, I do wish people would use a tripod when they are trying to capture a long shot, one could get sea-sick watching this…lol

France think about this aircraft as water bomber for future remplacement from they Canadair (or the Beriev 200 who was succesfull tested)
