- Footage filmed on Friday 2nd March 2018 of trams in Kolkata, India's last remaining tram system.
First of all, arrivals and departures are shown at the Esplanade Terminus and Turning Circle.
This is followed by film shot during a chartered tram journey from Esplanade to the Shyambazar Turning Circle and back highlighting life in the city streets. The traffic in the streets is exceptionally light due to it being a Holi Day.

The Government of West Bengal have been willfully slow poisoning the Calcutta 🚊 through out the decades irrespective of the regimes who ruled and rules us. This system would have been a fantastic solution to various disciplines of Kolkata's and it's suburb's public transport mechanism.

I agree with Mr Chatterjee. The subsequent political parties dating back to the Communist Party, did nothing to improve Kolkata’s infrastructure, except the subway system. I left that city to live abroad and returned to visit a couple of times. Sadly, the city looks the same as it was 50 years ago, down to the electricity failures that happen all too frequently. It’s about time the West Bengal government does something.
