Ubbe was his greatest rival because he wasn't fooled at all by his legs. He knew his brother was, in a word, formidable.
Ubbe wanted to live in his father's image.... Ivar wanted to eclipse it.
Remember Ivar didn't really get to know Ragnar so following his ideals wasn't really possible. Ivar was raised by Floki which explains a lot.
Ivar never wanted to eclipse his father's dream, he just simply didnt care. He has his own goals in life, much like how Bjorn doesnt give a shit about Ragnar's dreams.

It is ok if he was scared in the end, that was the only time he didnt have to pretend to be strong, or be angry, he had feelings, but didnt show them. Ivar just wanted to be loved. The only person who ever really loved him was murdered and when he finally thought he found someone else, she betrayed him. (Even though she was probably manipulating him from the beginning)

And to add to that, when he wanted to avenge the death of the one who showed him love, his own brothers left his side, some of the few people that I'm pretty sure he loved in some way, despite having to go against them. People judge Ivar for this but they did the same thing to him in a sense.
Next to ragnar ivar is the next best character in the show I cant stand the other brothers.
He was indeed great character but his actions like him standing against his brother, killing Thora just because he felt jealous made him evil..

Also he killed Thora because she cut down his statue, it was defintely evil what he did to her but she challenged his authority and that's what haopens when you challenge a tyrant

Ivar is the rappresentation of the third law of Newton: "For every action there is a reaction, equal and opposite to the action". World give to Ivar pain, loneliness and despair, so he is giving it back to the world. You've take the essence of his mind and put it in the video. You've give him justice my friend. Masterpiece

@@supernova7848there is no justifying a lot of what he did. Kind of like the joker, we see why he became the way he was and understand and sympathize but there is no excuse for a lot of the horrible shit he did. They are supposed to be sympathetic villains or anti heroes with emphasis on anti.

This last scene between these two just basically defined Ivar's character...
I hated Hirst for what he has done to Ivar's character in 5th season but from the bigger perspective events in 5b truly confirmed Ragnar's final words to his son and I can't wait when Ivar will truly "embrace" who he is and we'll actually see what he is capable of 🙌🙌

While I was very disappointed with 5B, I'm never disappointed with Alex's acting. You put together something that shows how amazingly talented he is, how he's brought Ivar to life & how regardless of the material he's given, he can capture the audience & make them need to know how Ivars story ends. Thank you for reminding me what's still so great about Vikings.

Ох, Ивар, в этом сезоне он чаще всех заставлял меня спрашивать. в экран - Что же ты делаешь? Зачем доверяешь этой змеюке? Зачем приказал сжечь всех этих людей? 😄Ты великолепно показал очень важные события сезона через это видео. ❤Начал с калеки, а закончил богом. Нельзя не назвать значительными переменами) И то как ты провел линию со словами Рагнара и Фрейдис о том, что он может достичь многого, действительно очень шикарная! Параллель с Рагнаром и Иваром в сцене с ребенком просто разбивает сердце 💔 Это было очень сильно и грустно. Визуальные параллели также просто поражают, очень точные сцены 😍 Особенно для себя отметила момент с топором на 0:33 и параллели с огнем на 1:35-1:41! И на 0:24-0:25 с маленьким очень забавно получилось)Фрейдис, конечно, расчетливая красавица и понятно, во что Ивар влюбился, но их линия стабильно расстраивала. Сначала ее обманом, а затем и его действиями насчет нее и ребенка. Но хорошее в их линии тоже было, она сделала Ивара увереннее в себе и интересно к чему это все приведет в следующем сезоне))Спасибо за такое интересное видео 😍

Уже с самого начала, слова о том что он не знал любви, как отображение его сущности. Прям идеальное начало. И возвращение к Рагнару - в самое сердечко.
Очень нравится, как ты перешел от "калеки" до того, что его ноги дали ему силу.
0:28 - 0:33 - настолько искренне.
И эта его злость, вечная борьба с другими, с собой.
0:45 - 1:06 - очень красивое попадание в музыку, которая тоже очень и очень красивая, и сама часть очень вдохновляющая.
1:29 - 1:48 и вот он сильный Ивар.
1:48 - 2:14 - очень сильно нравится эта часть!
2:17 - 2:41 - и вот она мощь! Мурашки от всего что увидела на экране!
2:41 - 2:59 - это наверное моя любимая часть видео, что-то особенное в ней, определенная сила.
И конец очень правильный.

He’s so powerful and has such a strong will to reach his goals, it’s insane to think about his possibilities to be a warrior as well. Please make a Bjorn video, your Bjorn/Ragnar and Bjorn/Floki videos are absolutely genius, but Bjorn as a character has developed and changed so, so, so much since you last vidded anything with him so i would die of happiness if you could make a new one of him!!
