I just started getting into natives 3 years ago. One bush I purchased was the spicebush (linerda benzoin). For the past 2 years, I found the text book curled leaf housing a tiny spicebush swallowtail caterpillar. Each year, just 1. I brought them inside and raised the cartoonishly comical little cats and watched the transformation into beautiful butterfly. Anxiously awaiting this year to hopefully find my 3rd.
What a beautiful place. Will definitely go check it out this summer when I travel to the eat cost. Thanks you so much so your informative and beautiful information in all your videos 🧑🌾👍🧚
It reminds of the arboretum at golden gate park in San Francisco. If you’re ever in northern California I think you will really enjoy their beautiful gardens. Love all your content in your videos
I love that garden!!! I miss traveling and seeing other places so much. Hopefully in 2022...
I enjoy Aquilegia canadensis very much. I grow it, and this year, I am growing it in combination with Lunaria and Muscari; they look good with each other. I grow Common Columbine too, and I plan to add more varieties and colors of Columbine to my collection.
WOW just breathtaking! Do they sell any plant material there?
Yes!!! They have a nice nursery... I bought paw paw trees.
@@BrieThePlantLady OMG how exciting! Will you make a video about your new paw paw trees?!
I missed the name of the one that you said was a great en masse groundcover that would freak out some gardeners? Am-something? 5-6 minutes in. Thanks!
Ah yes, that is Impatiens capensis. Here is more info about it.

@@BrieThePlantLady Is there anywhere to buy Impatien Capensis plants? I have tried growing from seed and have not had any luck.
Where can you buy natives? Home centers and nurseries usually carry only the most popular and common plants.
Yeah you have seen out native plant nurseries, which there are a lot of now. Many sell online. Izel plants is a good one.
