I just graduated with my BEd (fellow Alberta girl here!!) and just started subbing! You’ve become my absolute favourite to watch because of how relatable you and your content is to me (Had to laugh at the “we’re not it” @ Alberta) . Just wanted to say you’re amazing, and my heart goes out to all you teachers (and the kiddos) who had to shift again. You are all so appreciated and we WILL be back after the long weekend (manifesting it). Thank you for always being real, you’re supporting me and inspiring me as I get ready to start my career! Thank you for these videos - I always look forward to them and take all the time that you need before recording again!!

Zoe! Oh my goodness - this is such a sweet message! Honestly, my first day online was horrible, so this truly helps lift my spirits ❤️ I am so glad that my content resonates with you. I am sure it is disappointing for you to have schools close just as you begin subbing... I remember those first days so clearly, and it is so exciting to finally be able to teach! Love that you are thinking so positively about a return to the classroom. I am trying to do the same! We need to be back with the kiddos - online is just not the same. Thank you again for showing up and supporting me, and for taking the time to share such kind words. You truly made me smile today! Stay safe, and I wish you all the best when we get back to the classroom! Hope to chat with you more on here soon ☺️

Explaining the concept of ICU and covid is so sad. Hopefully the situation in your province doesn't get worse. Thanks for the dish idea.

What would your schedule look like on-line? We have one student who has Covid, so both our third grade classes will be on-line starting next week. We've broken up the kids into 4 groups, and each group has 45 minutes in English and 45 minutes in French per day. Unfortunately, that's not much. My schedule starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:45. Would love to see you teach on-line!

Hi Mai! I am sorry to hear that you will be going into quarantine - that is a tough situation. I can definitely see how an hour and a half with the kids is not much each day, but splitting them up into four groups is a good idea. I think you will be able to accomplish a lot more with smaller groups, especially at that age. Grades 4-6 teachers are expected to be teaching all main subjects (LA, Math, Science, Social - and Religion at my school). So I am having whole-class meetings. We focus on Math/LA in the mornings and Science/Social in the afternoons. I was able to send some printed work home so following our lessons online, I assign either something from their envelopes or something on Google Classroom. It is supposed to equate to 4-5 hours per day of learning. My meeting schedule differs depending on the day, but my kids have to post on Google Classroom around 9, then we are meeting at 10 and we go from there for the day. Teachers are available from 8:30-3:30 (like we are in school). I appreciate you letting me know you would be interested in seeing me teach online (I wasn’t sure if that would be interesting or not). I will film something this week for sure ☺️

@@teachwithtress118 Thanks so much for the detailed reply! I really enjoy your vids because I always learn something from you that I can apply to my own class, even though we don't teach the same grade. Good luck teaching on-line!
