My thoughts: for the past 18 months we have needed permission to do everything! From shopping to dining to going to church! We have needed permission to take off our masks! But we have never needed permission to dance! People are resilient and will always rise from the ashes…but why not do it dancing!

*Bangtan incorporated in their choreography the international language signs for fun, dance and peace.* No one doing it like BTS. They included everyone in their music, everyone is free to dance and have fun even when we are in this pandemic.

I've fallen for each one of them at different times, sometmes all at once or the whole rap line versus the whole vocal line some days... but they're each such a source of inspiration, strength, humor, determination and loyal love for each other & that's what allowed them to persevere through all the struggles they faced until today. They needed eachother to get to where they got; RM & Suga's prolific writing of music & lyrics, especially the first few years, the devotion BTS had & has to excellence in all they create, JHope's leadership in dance, the way they all encouraged & praised their maknae (the youngest, Jungkook) & the talented hard working vocal line...I mean they're truly eachother's biggest fans, it's so endearing to see them cheering for eachother. Ok, this is probably the first time in a long time ( since DNA) that the song song is not my musical preference. That being said, I have been streaming the song quite a bit to help with Hot 100 ( they deserve it!) and I always find myself smiling stupidly during the video . They are just enjoying themselves, being extra, and having fun and that makes me happy when I watch them. It’s definitely uplifting. And while this song is not one of my favs, my coworker (not an ARMY) really loves this song. I stream BTS at my desk while working and she gets excited everytime I play it lolol.

I didn't notice them at first until someone else mentioned them so I went back and looked. If you look at the rest of the video indoor scenes when V and others are in the camera and the others are dancing around in the background, JK is in full cowboy mode, hat and all, with stringers hanging off his coat. Apparently he didn't change footwear before shooting the solo "laundromat" scene. This kid can do anything and is so much fun. He and Jimin and V are the funny bone of BTS.

I absolutely love the diversity in this MV; ranging from people of different racial backgrounds to various job fields and that fact they even used sign language in the choreography was so thoughtful. I haven’t read all the comments yet, but did you notice the hand gestures the guys are making when they dance? Many of them are ASL gestures for hearing impaired! What a love letter to their fans and a wonderful nod to being inclusive💜💜💜
There’s a difference between gestures and sign language. ASL- American Sign Language is a language with grammatical rules. Sometimes they look similar. I’m going to make a comment to address the international sign language/ASL stuff if I don’t see that cleared up in someone else’s post by the time I reach the end of the comments. Also, most people prefer the term Deaf, deaf, or hard of hearing (HOH). Hearing impaired is something hearing people made up and focuses on a theory of defective/broken hearing. So the correct way to say it is - “Many of them are using sign language for the D/deaf or hard of hearing.”

Notice how easy their dance steps now compared before? When they were starting, they were trying so hard and worked their a** off, because they wanted to be recognized and prove themselves. I'm sure all artists feel the same way at the start of their career. But now that they're soooo big worldwide, they don't try that hard anymore, but still gives good music. I remember when Suga said before in one of their interviews that they're so much relaxed now compared before, because they know that ARMYS are always there to support. No pressure at all. I love how big they have become now. I honestly miss their old music and old videos showing how good they are at dancing like ON, but they've done so much already to prove themselves, that made me feel ok seeing them doing easy dance steps now and not try hard anymore. In one of the teaser trailers when Suga is reading the newspaper, if you look at the upper right corner of the paper it states “ purple balloons signal the end of COVID 19”. Not sure if it has a different meaning but once again they’ve done such an amazing job!!

The hand gestures are sign language if you didn't know. And for someone who just recently lost their hearing due to unfortunate circumstances I can appreciate that. Also look how happy Yoongi is and moving his shoulders without pain anymore. That in its self is happiness. Loved it. I don't see why ppl are jumping ship now bc its not the same bts they staned in the beginning. People evolve and change and get older. They choose this route to take for wherever reason bc more I army no doubt is part of the reason. Idk I'm only a year and a half in and I'm loving it regardless. If ppl want to unstan let them. That’s exactly what I said . I loved the fact that the dance was so easy to go along with . It’s easy to learn & pick up on . I got emotional seeing the people rip off their masks . The pandemic isn’t all the way over , but we are getting to the end & that’s all that matters💕I’m extremely proud of them💜
As a speech therapist, the deaf community and the rest of the Army (me also) it's proud of them for including ISL (international sign language) in the coreography. Claps 👏🏻 to Ed Sheeran and Johny McDaid (Snow Patrol) for produce such a great and positive song, and BTS for being great performances as well. Inclusive rocks! 🤟🏻💜
I'm excited to see your reaction. The teaser gave me old TV show theme vibes and then the whole song sounds like a musical and JK's dance reminded me of Kevin Bacon/Footloose, Patric Swayze/Dirty Dancing, and Michael Jackson/Smooth Criminal, rolled into one. And I recognized the sign language use right away coz I'm a speech therapist. This whole MV is such a happy & inspiring one, with so many layers of meaning especially their ode to the essential workers. 💜
Wow, I hadn't thought of that and haven't seen mention of it anywhere yet Essential workers - the post office,, the janitor, the food service, etc. Good read, Theresa. This is the most uplifting, positive and cool song and video of the year. All ethnicities, ages and professions. Sign language, cute kids (some of them BTS staff children) and that triple spin by JK. Yup, everything in one 5 minute shot. They did it again. BigHit has the most creative staff in the music industry. They really know how to make the boys shine.

They needed eachother to get to where they got; RM & Suga's prolific writing of music & lyrics, especially the first few years, the devotion BTS had & has to excellence in all they create, JHope's leadership in dance, the way they all encouraged & praised their maknae (the youngest, Jungkook) & the talented hard working vocal line...I mean they're truly eachother's biggest fans, it's so endearing to see them cheering for eachother. Ok, this is probably the first time in a long time ( since DNA) that the song song is not my musical preference. That being said, I have been streaming the song quite a bit to help with Hot 100 ( they deserve it!) and I always find myself smiling stupidly during the video . They are just enjoying themselves, being extra, and having fun and that makes me happy when I watch them. It’s definitely uplifting. And while this song is not one of my favs, my coworker (not an ARMY) really loves this song. I stream BTS at my desk while working and she gets excited everytime I play it lolol.

I didn't notice them at first until someone else mentioned them so I went back and looked. If you look at the rest of the video indoor scenes when V and others are in the camera and the others are dancing around in the background, JK is in full cowboy mode, hat and all, with stringers hanging off his coat. Apparently he didn't change footwear before shooting the solo "laundromat" scene. This kid can do anything and is so much fun. He and Jimin and V are the funny bone of BTS.
Someone really loves this scene because they created a video of just JK's spin. "EMO COWBOY JUNGKOOK TORNADO SPIN TWIST DANCE" A 7 minute loop of JK getting dizzy, ARMYs are crazy. BTS makes the world fun.

Couple of Tidbits-1.V first referred to “Purple Balloon” on April, 2020 on Weverse while communicating with Armys. He wrote, “I left a purple balloon in your dream. Look it up.” in response to a sleepless Army.💜 Isn’t it a beautiful expression of love & hope?! 2.V also has used Int’l sign language 🤟for Armys in recent years & it’s so wonderful that they decided to incorporate it in their choreography! 🤠🥳 We all know V is imaginative & he continues to inspire us.💜🐻🥰 Love the MV & enjoyed your reactions.

I absolutely love the diversity in this MV; ranging from people of different racial backgrounds to various job fields and that fact they even used sign language in the choreography was so thoughtful. They made so many people feel included. Overall it gives me major High School Musical vibes.

I haven’t read all the comments yet, but did you notice the hand gestures the guys are making when they dance? Many of them are ASL gestures for hearing impaired! What a love letter to their fans and a wonderful nod to being inclusive💜💜💜
There’s a difference between gestures and sign language. ASL- American Sign Language is a language with grammatical rules. Sometimes they look similar.
I’m going to make a comment to address the international sign language/ASL stuff if I don’t see that cleared up in someone else’s post by the time I reach the end of the comments.
Also, most people prefer the term Deaf, deaf, or hard of hearing (HOH). Hearing impaired is something hearing people made up and focuses on a theory of defective/broken hearing. So the correct way to say it is - “Many of them are using sign language for the D/deaf or hard of hearing.”

Notice how easy their dance steps now compared before? When they were starting, they were trying so hard and worked their a** off, because they wanted to be recognized and prove themselves. I'm sure all artists feel the same way at the start of their career. But now that they're soooo big worldwide, they don't try that hard anymore, but still gives good music. I remember when Suga said before in one of their interviews that they're so much relaxed now compared before, because they know that ARMYS are always there to support. No pressure at all. I love how big they have become now. I honestly miss their old music and old videos showing how good they are at dancing like ON, but they've done so much already to prove themselves, that made me feel ok seeing them doing easy dance steps now and not try hard anymore. They deserve everything that they are now and I'm soooo happy and proud of them!.. 💖💖💖 I LOVE BTS soooo much!.. 💖 I also love the 3 of u guys for loving BTS and for giving the sincerest reactions videos. This song made me feel hopeful. In a world so screwed up and in crisis, BTS made me feel hopeful and comforted. Taehyung wrote "I left a purple balloon in your dream. Look it up" to a fan on Weverse who could not sleep. Now we see the purple balloons here. This is comfort.
In one of the teaser trailers when Suga is reading the newspaper, if you look at the upper right corner of the paper it states “ purple balloons signal the end of COVID 19”. Not sure if it has a different meaning but once again they’ve done such an amazing job!!

The hand gestures are sign language if you didn't know. And for someone who just recently lost their hearing due to unfortunate circumstances I can appreciate that. Also look how happy Yoongi is and moving his shoulders without pain anymore. That in its self is happiness. Loved it. I don't see why ppl are jumping ship now bc its not the same bts they staned in the beginning. People evolve and change and get older. They choose this route to take for wherever reason bc more I army no doubt is part of the reason. Idk I'm only a year and a half in and I'm loving it regardless. If ppl want to unstan let them. That’s exactly what I said . I loved the fact that the dance was so easy to go along with . It’s easy to learn & pick up on . I got emotional seeing the people rip off their masks . The pandemic isn’t all the way over , but we are getting to the end & that’s all that matters💕I’m extremely proud of them💜
As a speech therapist, the deaf community and the rest of the Army (me also) it's proud of them for including ISL (international sign language) in the coreography.

The teaser gave me old TV show theme vibes and then the whole song sounds like a musical and JK's dance reminded me of Kevin Bacon/Footloose, Patric Swayze/Dirty Dancing, and Michael Jackson/Smooth Criminal, rolled into one. And I recognized the sign language use right away coz I'm a speech therapist. This whole MV is such a happy & inspiring one, with so many layers of meaning especially their ode to the essential workers. 💜

This is the most uplifting, positive and cool song and video of the year. All ethnicities, ages and professions. Sign language, cute kids (some of them BTS staff children) and that triple spin by JK. Yup, everything in one 5 minute shot. They did it again. BigHit has the most creative staff in the music industry. They really know how to make the boys shine.

The choreography included ASL signs for dance,fun and peace for deaf people. Also the video was inclusive of so many people who worked in the pandemic mailmen, janitors, teachers, office workers, couples, children and is just so hopeful and refreshing.
