  • Lian Li Lancool 216 review and build video: • I build in the Lian Li...
In this video, I compare the Lian Li Lancool 3 and the Lancool 216.
I go over the build quality, the cable management, the fans, the rgb, the side panels, the storage capabilities, and I give a pros and cons of each case.
I then build in the Lancool 3.

The Lancool 3 is good enough, as long as your display monitor is placed outside the tempered glass rotation radius, it's not practical to move the case before opening the side panels, the design of the lancool 216 is more reasonable.

The movable front panel is such a winner.
I have wireless keyboard and mouse, and having the front IO in that postition makes it a breeze to charge them whilst still using them, without some long ass cable draping all over the show.

I've been using the Black RGB 216 for 6 months now. Its an amazing case for air flow. Easy to build in, easy to keep clean. I got it as Open box from Micro Center and it was missing the PCI slot Bracket. I have to use a zip tie to hold my video card in and I use the PCI fan attachment to cover the big hole thats left. Was a steal for only $85 open box. Nice Video.

I have a Lancool III and the Arctic LF II 420 top mounted with the rear 140mm fan installed. Doing the things carefully but "hard" (you have to force a little bit the two fans) you can actually mount all the fans with the 420 mm

    • @s.s.7404
      @s.s.7404 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@husseinahmed5392 mmh, it's actually pretty tricky to do. Check if your motherboard is compatible with that top mounted case, because some motherboard has incompatible heatsink/shield on top. If your mobo is compatible with top mounting, do this passages when it's installed and the cpu cables are plugged.
First thing, you have to swap the direction of the mechanism in front of the case, where the 3 inntake 140mm fans are placed. Basically you have to rotate it because is impossible to place the radiator with that in default position.
Remember, rotating that "cart" means that you have to flip the fans too, so remoove all the mechanism (there is a lever and few screws) and remove the fans, then rotate everything (the position is very intuitive).
Second: once the mechanism is out and the flipped fans are installed on that, unscrew the fans from the radiator and place it from the bottom, without taking out the top of the case (just get rid of the antidust filter for now). One hand on the radiator, one with the screwdriver to secure the screws between the rad and the metal. Check out the direction, but basically if you did it right the arctic logo is visible on top and the two tubes of the pump are in the front side.
Put the mechanism with the front fans back into place.
Remember, the fans are inntake, so the fan cables should be on the cable management side. If the positioning is correct there is an only way to put back that cart, and is the right way.
Last, unscrew the rear fan and force it a little bit as lowest as possible.
Once is is lowered put again the fans on the radiator, starting with the front one. The last should be touching the rear fan, but with a little forcing should fit.

At around 30:53 u mentioned that the lancool 3 front fans were all connected to one cable that u plug into the mb. Is there also another cable for rgb that you plug in? I don’t want to use the control thing at the top for rgb, I wanna control the rgb with the mb, so is that one cable split into argb + pwm or just that one pwm cable?

The ui on the side is a huge selling point to me. Really wish this was the case with the 3. Currently using the mesh 2 and the only negative has been some of the shotty screw taps and my thumb rubbing off the ui cable labels completely after second mobo install.

Check out if you can adjust the fan speed by connecting the 1 4pin out of your RGB controller that comes with the case to 1 4 pin fan controller of your motherboard and by this you can have the fan behavior adjusted automaticaly through the BIOS. So if the computer is on idle the fans will run at like 30% and it will only increase as the heat inside the case or CPU will increase. Bios will adjist that by itself. This was will be less power consumption and less noise. Maybe you have missed that connector from the incorporated RGB controller of Lancool III to one 4 pin header on your motherboard. So check it out if is availiable (i mean i got a 205 mesh of Lian Li and i have this So probably the Lancool III will have this too. All the fans connected on this controller will run at the same speed )

Where I'm from prices are so weird lol I couldn't find the lancool 216 in any shop but found the lancool 3 and i only paid a little more than the price i would have paid for a corsair 4000d here. So ridiculous but I'd rather get the 3 than a 4000D for that money.
Great videos btw this is all I needed to learn about the case man.

BTW, it should be noted that without a fan hub, you may be running some of the Lancool 3's fans at 100%, hence the extra noise

Currently have a ii mesh performance . Considering a 216 for a possible white build. The iii seems a bit too big and it’s really heavy. I prefer not having glass on both sides.
I don’t think the model# has anything to do with the fans as the 215 has 2x20cm fans

    • @Renegade_Rabryn

The glass and all the cable management doors are unnecessary and a waste of money. I think I prefer the lancool 3 still over the 216. But I like big and roomy cases. But the 216 is definitely a better value.
