Air Cooled Build in the Cooler Master Q300L V2
I bought a Cooler Master Q300L V2 to build in using my 7800X3D and RTX 4080 Super. To cool the CPU, I'm using the Arctic Freezer 36 air cooler, which Arctic hooked me up with. The Cooler Master Q300L V2 is a compact micro atx case and I really like the look of the case. In this video, I go over the build process and all the cable management features. I give my thoughts on the case and go over some thermals.

I build an SFF pc in the Cooler Master NR200p v2. In my opinion, this might be the best mini itx case you can buy. The value is great for the price as it can house large GPUs and can fit a 280mm aio liquid cooler. This video is not sponsored and nothing in this video was supplied to me. This video is not sponsored by Lian Li. The Lian Li Lancool imo is the best ATX case of the year considering its price. Component compatibility is great. Cable management is superb. Airflow is insane with the included 4 fans. The design is awersome. It's just an overall awesome ATX case to build a gaming computer in. This case is less expensive than other cases that give you less. Get the Lanco...

This ATX case is criminally underrated. It's the Geometric Future Model 5. Geometric Future has been around for a few years now. Maybe you've seen some of their cases? The Model 5 comes with 5 pre-installed 140mm Squarma Fans. The PSU is top front mounted. It has excellent cable management features. And, it is very aesthetic and futuristic looking. i don't know why but somehow cooler master sometimes lack of QC like what you mention in this video : from screw etc. but glad at least NRP series look decent job ahahahah
Looks great, but the second fan on the top on the right side is going to impede the flow of your cpu cooler
You're the second person to mention that. I'll remove it and try it out.
That case is trash.
Are you not a fan of the new intel core ultra either? Im about to build a new pc higher end and cant decide if i want to go intel or ryzen. Intel has fixed alot of the issues since the last gen. Im not looking for like every single fps i can get either going with the ryzen 9 9950 or the intel 285k. I will for sure be gaming but its not just going to be a gaming pc.
I haven't used the new intels so I'm not going to say anything definitively...you're guess is as good as mine. I'm just going by what all the other reviewers are saying. Based on that, I personally chose to get a 9950x and it's been great, although my 14900k was better for video editing.
Would love to see a build in the QUBE 500 although I hear the airflow is just as terrible as Q300/500L.
It was either this case or the QUBE 500...there's so many other cases i want to do so the QUBE isn't on the list right now.
great video! I have the v1 case and gutted the crap outta it. Thermals have improved significantly and I am still rocking the case.
What did you do to gut it?
Adding a top mounted exhaust fan in front on the CPU cooler hurts the cooling performance. Just get rid of the 1st one, keep the second, it'll improve the cooling performance.
Ya you're right....all that cool air leaving the case before it goes through the fins. I'll try it out.
I don't understand why not just slide the radiator over a little ? so it will fit , and GPU should be plugged in first than screwed into back ?
It doesn’t look good without a PSU shroud. CoolerMaster this is 2025, not 2015🤣
Agree with you, Cooler Master fans are garbage !
I dont mind their sickle flow fans that come with other cases, just this bottom of the barrel one is horrendous.
@@Renegade_Rabryn i perfectly know what you are talking about : this fan is the same that i had in an aio cooler from Cooler Master (basic cooler but not so cheap). Big noise and vibrations. Had another aio from cooler master, not cheap, this time, but fans was some better but bad anyway. From there i switched to air noctua cooler...forever ;-)
Once you go to noctua I don't think you'll ever be able to go back to anything else.
Any alternatives you recommend
Montech Air 100 (mATX), lian li dan A3(mATX), Phanteks xt pro ultra (ATX)
@@Renegade_Rabrynthx
I have the v2 with a 4090 suprim x.
I have this case and I have a problem with my gpu overheating
Pretty bad airflow in this case
@@Renegade_Rabrynand I don’t even have high power parts, all I have is a 7700xt and it overheats so bad
What does the temp get up to?
@@Renegade_Rabryn 70 to 85 degrees
Ya 85 is getting close to the point of worrying. Probably fine, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable with it. Does it get that hot with the glass panel off?
Sir is the USB C 3.2 gen 2 or gen 1
Detailed demonstration of the cable management was so good! Many many other creators skip the process entirely
Thanks man 🤗
I'm gonna be honest, I bought a 216 and am returning it because it's just way too big for my space and I don't do enough crazy stuff to need that much airflow (not to mention my GPU is only two fan so its tiny in that case). One thing I've realized I dislike about the case is the LED rings around the fans. Idk why I find it so cheesy... maybe because it reminds me of those crappy, cheap Bluetooth boomboxes with builtin LED. If I get the 207, with the same LED rings, anyone have suggestions on some mods I could do to the front grille without impacting airflow? I love the look of the Lian Li octagonal LEDs they have on their coolers, wish that could be incorporated into the stock LED fans on these cases somehow.
Came for the review, stayed for the music lol.
This video is incredible, thanks for the thorough explanation.
you forget to install the ssd spacers!!!
What’s the song at the start?
I hope I can build a Pc like that one day too
How do you feel about the NR 200 PV 2 versus the M2? After a long debate I finally decided to go with M2
Ditch the music!
OH MAN, I WAS SKEPTIKAL about fitting the GPU inside the case and not interferaing withe AIO tubes, BRO i have the same case with cooler master PL240 flux cooler that has a massive tube thiknes, can you tell me more about how to fit the gpu while those tubes are in the way, i didnt pick up the gpu yet , waiting for a 5070TI or 5080 with a good SFF dimensions
I zip tied the tubes to the psu bracket.
@Renegade_Rabryn are the tubes pushing on the gpu after zip to psu bracket?
Do people really care that much that it looks cool... its a box to hold parts ffs im ashamed of my fellow humans and where out priorities lie
You'll be less stressed in life if you accept that people like things that you don't care about 🙂
@@Renegade_Rabryn in not mad, just disappointed son
I think the presentation was awesome and one hell of a powerhouse build. Love your videos bro! 😊
Thanks man. Glad you like them.
What settings did you play cyberpunk at?
do you have the specifications fo your power supply, what dimensions does it have?
should be able to fit 4 more mm on the gpu right? eyeing the 5090 tuf 348mm... build plan- arctic freezer ii 280 sfx psu b650i GB ultra motherboard and ram at 44mm height -WIl i manage? and also, doing a custom handle on this through the top to the top frame (with spacers between so the top isn't crushed)
That´s my dream PC build, great job.
1:43 low taper fade
The case must be pretty flimsy if everything breaks so easily.
Why is there a second ssd that has a 2tb Samsung 970 Gen 3 without an additional radiator? does this threaten high temperatures and its failure?
The drive isn't in use much...only when doing storage file transfers that last 10 minutes or so each transfer. I've been using this drive in particular without a heatsink since 2022 and so problems so far. Fingers crossed🤞
Is it possible to run an AIO up top with an Matx board?
Can this case fit a z790 Ace?
Looks great just wish that you bought a 3 pack of the squama fans for your radiator.
Thank you for sharing this video. I’m actually building on this case. I noticed that your AIO fan does not collide with the power supply connector, especially since you have the power supply clip in the SFX-L position. My fan ended up breaking a blade, forcing me to lower its position to the SFX slot. My AIO is 280mm, but it has the same thickness as the CM240.
I actually bought this case after your video and upgrading from Terra to Era 2 - mainly due to the 280mm Aio - I managed to cram one in but will need to re-do the cable management - Thanks a ton and subbed !
Bought it and will never use another case.
I wish people stopped using multiple ssd's with these boards. More doesn't mean better with these.
Who says it's better to use multiple?
@@Renegade_Rabryn Why you wasting your components then?
@@vento5314 My IQ went down after reading your comment! Not every motherboard is the same, and there's a reason they add a second ssd slot. I wish people stopped commenting dumb shit!
@@abXbawz This just proves you have no knowledge on the subject. It's okay you can look for information without making a clown of yourself. How about you ask for reasoning before you start insulting?
@@vento5314 Your comment made it 10x funnier! I am computer science graduate, and a full stack developer, I've built more than 6 strong gamine pcs, I am 37 so have my years of experience, but you are right, and I am wrong 😂😂
I was gonna sleep early for work but your video popped on my feed so I knew I had to watch to get a good night's rest.
Happy to be your sleep aid.
What a neat clean. Congratz buddy, just out of curiosity, why you didn't go for an NR200P Max? You wouldn't have had issues with the AIO I guess, no? And btw for those who are planning on building something on this case, do you think it is possible to add an extra fan in the bottom just below the GPU connection?
I didn't go with the max cause I already had a psu to use and I can re use the aio I went with in other videos. I should've filmed it, but I did try to add a fan under the gpu, but the fan was a hair too thick and it didn't fit. Could definitely use a slim fan though.
@@jaimepadron8863 you can fit a 25mm or 28mm fan under the gpu but you'll need to rise the gpu bracket holder about 5mm to 6mm using a metal spacer so it coul sit on it
Only vertical mounting for the GPU? Yikes, no thanks. Planning to move from a Lancool 216 & the NCASE M2 seems like the best fit for me. I like the SSUPD Xhuttle (since my computer is on the left side of my desk) but I think I'd like to downsize. AP201 and A3-MATX look like viable options as well. Going to be reusing my 4090 FE and upgrading my 5950X to a 9950X (or 9950X3D).
The ncase m2 is awesome. That's what I use for my dedicated gaming system.
I have the first gen of that case and still using it, I like how it is compact enough to fit beside my table with my 32" 1440p monitor, I would say that it is not the best for airflow in my own opinion, we know that ITX cases has less airflow than a medium tower build, so I am switching into corsair 2000D and I can use a 360 rad beside it. I just like the idea of having a bit more fans inside the case.
I've got the 2000d and I'm excited to build in it.
@@Renegade_Rabryn I am looking at it right now and will buy it.
whats your room temp? can I use a 240mm cooler with a 9950x CPU in a hot Asian region?
I usually run my ambient at about 19c or 67f. Could use a 280 or a better aio with better fans than I did to get better cooling
@@Renegade_Rabryn our room temp in the summer season is 38c. what do you think its a good decision to get an ITX build?
get ready to change the stock fans if you need silence, mine produce some kind of nasty hum at revs above 850, both the front and the lower ones.
You know that tubes can run from the back of the case instead of of the front... This looks extremely janky
The pcie express cable is unsightly not a good design as far as aesthetics go
ayeeeeee Another video! I switched my case again bud. I dropped the NV5. Went with the brand new Antec Flux Pro! Massive airflow
Right on. I miss my nv5
