Hello everyone! Today in sunny Melbourne, I'm excited to share what's been happening in my garden lately. Join me as I take you through some recent tasks, adding organic mulch, and topping up soil in my potato bags.
In this video, I'll cover three main topics:
Recent Garden Updates: Discover the small tasks I've been working on behind the scenes to keep my seeds healthy and thriving. Ensuring the surface soil stays moist has been key to supporting seedling growth, and I'm excited to show you the progress of tomatoes, basil varieties, and other plants.
Mulching Benefits: Learn why I'm adding organic sugar cane mulch to certain areas of the garden. Mulching helps retain moisture, suppress weeds, and enrich soil with nutrients. I'll demonstrate how I apply mulch around established plants like pumpkins, ensuring it's done correctly to support plant growth.
Adding Soil to Potato Bags: Watch as I top up soil in my potato bags to support the growing plants. By adding extra soil gradually, I provide ample room for the potatoes to develop underground. I'll explain the process and share insights on optimizing potato yield.
Join me as I demonstrate these gardening tasks step by step and share my insights on nurturing a healthy garden environment.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below-I'm here to help and learn from fellow gardening enthusiasts like you!

My squashes wilt regularly, we've had a lot of very hot weather lately. It was scary at first but they're starting to produce fruit so they must be happy enough.

Goood to hear they are fruiting.
Something I read is good to do, is to water deeply 24 hours before hot days so the plant can absorb as much water and not be so stressed by the incoming heat.
Protect the soil with mulch as well if you can.

Does it get the same amount of water as the other one? Seems weird 🤔

it did, I think it was too hot and the plant was not strong enough to survive the heat, it eventually died after wilting like seen on the video.
