  • Welcome to Yata-Tetsu's Station & Train Announcements Channel from Japan!
The in-train announcements on the London Underground Piccadilly Line.
Piccadilly line is one of the most popular London Underground lines, since the line starts at Heathrow so it will be the first and last Tube rides for tourists and also used by Londoners flying from Heathrow.
It is composed of the main route connecting Heathrow Terminal 5, the Central London and Cockfosters and a branch line splitting at Acton Town towards Uxbridge. There is also a short ‘loop’ branch splitting at Hatton Cross to Heathrow T4 then return to Heathrow T2 & 3.
All services run fast between Acton Town and South Kensington with less stops than District line which runs along Piccadilly line within the stations.
The Piccadilly line announcement has some interesting features; one of them is to say ‘Alight (here) for’ instead of ‘Exit (here) for’ to inform their customers where to get off for some tourist attractions. Although the verb ‘alight’ is common in signages of London Underground, announcements usually say ‘Exit (here) for’ and avoid using ‘alight’ which is a kind of British English. But, the Piccadilly line announcements don’t.
It seems the announcement wants to show what is the traditional announcements in London, with magical phrases such as ‘alight for’, ‘change for’, ‘mind the gap’ and ‘all change’.
This video contains announcements on the following three routes:
    1)Cockfosters to Heathrow Terminals
Firstly train terminating at Heathrow T2 & 3,
then back to Hounslow West, go to Heathrow T4 loop,
continue to Hounslow West and finally go to Heathrow T5.
Calls at Turnham Green. Non-stops at Hounslow West due to station closure.
    2)Heathrow T5 to Cockfosters
including some announcements on an Earl’s Court service having been operated on a strike day.
Records ‘Alight for Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre’ announcements.
    3)Acton Town to Uxbridge
    unfortunately nothing special
Most of sounds were recorded after the modifications that:
adds ‘Elizabeth Line’+’See it, say it, sorted’ message
    reflects renaming ‘Heathrow T2&3’ from ‘Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 & 3’
and deletes ‘Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre’
which all carried out this summer, but some sounds had been recorded before the modification or even recorded during the South Kensington station closure.

I love how the driver briefly forgot what the next stop was after the closed station at one point.

Thank you for reposting this video! I've really missed listening to it ❤️ London holds a special place in my heart, and I long for it. I often play this in the background at my home in Toronto, and it feels like I'm back on the train with the announcements spaced out just right. I truly miss London. If possible, could you upload a higher quality version or one with updated announcements? Thank you so much for sharing this ☺️ Stay safe always!

The new Piccadilly line trains sadly won’t feature Julie Berry. Thank you for uploading this. I will save this as a memory of the many times I spent on them. Do save yourself a higher quality version before it goes.

8:24 Is he American? That's kinda weird, though not totally out if place, this line is used by pretty much 80% of the tourists, including American ones
And by the lack of rapid transit systems in US, I wouldn't be surprised if someone from America will want to work for the LU

@@retrobuild4614Americans can get visas, working and living permits pretty much anywhere they want, there's no restrictions for them, but of you want to go to the US, even just as tourist they will f you over, and you'll have to pay for each interview, most of which you'll fail
