You do as you please, but I would highly recommend not stopping or interrupting smack in the middle of an active phrase...do appreciate your enthusiasm though!
Erm no it wasn’t, it was at the Terme di Caracella in Roma the evening before the final of Italia ‘90. Funds were raised for leukaemia charities as José Carreras, the Spanish tenor, was in remission from the illness. Pavarotti’s Nessun Dorma became the first, and so far only, genuine opera track to top the UK charts after the BBC used it as the opening to each of its match programmes,
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Morir! Morir!) coro Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle! Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò! Vincerò! Vincerò! The translation Let no one sleep, Let no one sleep! Even you, oh Princess, In your cold room, Watch the stars, That tremble with love And with hope. But my mistery is hidden within me, My name no one shall know, No... no... On your mouth, I will tell it, When the light will shine. And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine! (No one will know his name and we must, alas, die, die.) chorus Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
I loved your reaction. Opera *is* for the people, but it can seem elite because it's often in Italian and so many aren't exposed to it. Really, it's just beautifully sung stories based on real human emotional themes of life death, anger, joy, and mostly love. Research a little, buy a ticket, put on some nice duds, and go have an amazing experience. My personal sweet spot is certainly not Classical, but it definitely adds a rich layer to my musical vocabulary.
A little help w-his name -- Loo-chee-ah-no Pah-vah-ro-tee. He had more passion & emotion in his little fingernail than anyone before or since & it is because of that passion & emotion you feel like you want to cry. It's more than just a good voice. But could you not talk over the singing - thank you.
The greatest tenor ever. RIP Luciano. A voice that is greatly missed.
That was until Jonathan Antoine came along
Thats not a "boy". Thats the greatest operatic tenor of the 20th century.
This opera, turandot, like many others, can be seen at movie theatres across the country this wednesday through the metropolitan opera Broadcasts
Never stop never !!!!!

Let no one sleep,
Let no one sleep!
Even you, oh Princess,
In your cold room,
Watch the stars,
That tremble with love
And with hope.
But my mistery is hidden within me,
My name no one shall know,
No... no...
On your mouth, I will tell it,
When the light will shine.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die, die.) chorus
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win!
I will win!
I will win!
