This is incredible news, he’s the best manager we’ve had since Ron Saunders. The future is looking very good for us now. UTV

With Klopp leaving Liverpool and Pep perhaps leaving Man City next season. Dare we dream of Unai propelling Villa to possible title challengers over these coming seasons?

Over the coming years yes,why not?
But we're still a way off being good enough atm.

Really happy he has signed for 5 years! hope the back room staff have also been rewarded for their hard work too! Hopes for next season are top 7 finish (Europe again) Hopefully win the FA Cup? (More Europe?) And progress to the last 16 of CL? (or beyond) Realistic hopes? Perhaps! But we can dare to dream UTMV #believe

While other clubs are trying to find anyone that’s worked with Guardiola, and we have tied down the 3rd most elite manager in Europe (Pep/Anchelotti 1 & 2) also this means he will be backed financially this summer

Prof Unai has been around the managerial block several times. He's learned from experience the things that matter to him, and those things are perfectly reflected in the structure that surrounds him at AVFC. Truly wonderful times, glad though to be in the off-season, the final few games were mega-stressful. Thanks Frankie, keep up the good work!

The teamwork between the management /owners & Unai is such a Brilliant sign & is so much better than previous managers looking in good place Martin O Neil but not getting on his management then he walks. Even the days of ultra successful Ron Saunders but he felt he had to walk out on the way to European Cup triumph because he did not get on with his management (Deadly Doug Ellis) .This management partnership N,S,W.E. is so much more focused on doing whatever it takes to give Unai whatever (tools) management partners he needs as well as transfer funds he needs obviously within the F.F.P guidlines maybe Unai has an accountant I would guess .In the next 5 years of this Unai contract I predict that in the league & Champions league If we are not to win one of those 2 or both I really think we will come mighty close & win a domestic cup or cups in the next years , I base that belief on the magic touch Unai has with players instilling belief & improving skill level . This inevitably leads to a more togetherness bond with all the players and Unai,

I've always been confident that Unai Emery would be with us long term,i sense that he feels at home at Villa & knows he's loved/respected at our great club & has a free hand in football matters which is very rare nowadays. Aston Villa fc as a whole seems to me to have real unity from top to bottom & that is a recipe for success, what's going on at Villa right now is incredible & i think we're moving forward & upward onto great things in our clubs long history, we're improving & growing together & the skies the limit for Aston Villa fc. 😊

This is a real “hands off” message to clubs and sections of the media who think they can fuel an approach to poach our Manager. And he’s also The Manager now rather than Head Coach. UTMV

Means Jack shit as it protects the club .. these owners gave grealish a 5 year deal and look what happened to him .. good news but let’s see what happens if Barca come calling .. bottom line these contracts are to protect the club and players/managers will do what’s right for them which is why we had to settle his contract at Villarreal because there was no loyalty from emery there when a bigger club came calling .. good news and tbh I don’t actually believe we will lose emery to another prem club but anybody that doesn’t believe he will be off if Real or Barca come calling are deluded

True, but with villa I believe there's unfinished business in England, due to his arsenal treatment, he wants to prove his ability to win something here, that's a very powerful motivation

Then why isn't he at one of those clubs right now? Some very big clubs out there that need a manager, are you saying that NONE of them have even inquired about Unai?
I'm not saying that there is no chance of him leaving, what I am saying is he won't leave just because of the name of whatever clubs comes for him. I doubt any club can offer him what he has at Villa, or even if they would be willing to.
Oh and we didn't have to "settle his contract" with Villareal, he had a buyout clause in his contract. Villareal knew that if a club came with a project that Emery wanted to be a part of he would allowed to go, regardless of which club or league. Which is why he turned down Newcastle a year earlier, he said that the project lacked direction, Newcastle, by all acounts the richest club in the world and Unai said no.
So for him it's not just about the name or the wealth or even the history of the club that approaches him. It's about that clubs future and right now not many if any clubs have a brighter possible future then Aston Villa. UTV!
