The entire Conjuring Universe is really good. The Nun is probably the weakest, but still pretty scary.
Insidious is a bit better

The nun was the most boring movie I saw in cinema
how is the Nun the weakest...it is the backstory to Conjuring 2 and it links into the story of Annabelle Creation as well. personally i felt Conjuring: The Devil Made me Do It was pretty weak...they implied it was to do with a demon or the devil by the title and it ended up just being a witch. it is the ONLY film in the series not about a demon or spirit...kind of lack luster.
@@IDyce88 Conjuring 3 definitely had a different feel to it, but I liked the story. I’ve only seen The Nun once, so I may give it another shot.
One of the scariest scenes of all time, the daughter who sees something behind the bedroom door. We expect a jump scare, but the camera just lingers on the blackness behind the door. My heart was racing and the payoff takes way longer than it should.
James Wan needs to get a lot of credit for the Conjuring and all the spin offs he created. These movie's are actually really scary and the closest thing to classic horror movies from the 70's and 80's.
The last good haunted house movie. Along with Insidious and Sinister, this was among the best modern horror films of the "Pre-A24" Era.

What I really like about this movie is how no one's overly skeptical, to the point of, if they're levitated eight feet into the air, spun around several times, then yeeted about five feet in the opposite direction, they're all like, "Hmm, must have been swamp gas..." The most skeptical character in the movie is Brad the cop, who's the good kind of skeptical, where once he sees something blatantly beyond normal explanation, he's fully on-board. For a long time, EVERY ghost movie/tv episode would have the "hard-core skeptic" who felt less like a skeptic and more like they were in denial clear until the last minute or two - and that was after stuff had been levitated, caught on fire, seen horrible things appear from out of nowhere, been clawed, beaten, and even had limbs broken/removed and seen people die hideously in front of them - and even then, often they'd either revert to being "skeptical" immediately afterward or wouldn't even exhibit that moment of clarity where they acknowledge something weird might going on in the first place! It gets REALLY old after the first seven or eight times you see it in a movie, and it's been in the majority of horror that's been created in my life. Skeptics are good (and even necessary in certain cases) in a ghost story, but people in willful denial are just plain annoying.
Can really recommend Sinister with Ethan Hawke. Very solid horror too.

To be that guy and answer the question seriously... yeah, demons probably smell like farts. That distinctive rotten-egg smell is sulfur (/brimstone). It smells like really bad farts.

I live so close to the actual house and I’ve never even driven by. This house is for sale now for $1.2mil which is probably the most expensive house ever in that area of Rhode Island.
I just saw an investigation by some ghost hunters and the house is not for sale, unless it was listed recently. The owners during the investigation were excited to live there, regardless of the crazy shit that still happens.

That one part when the guy from warrens team screams out that he found the little girl and possessed Carolyn flips her head around like “bingo” and takes off. Scares the crap out of me every time I don’t know why.
RIP to Ed and Lorraine Warren they died almost 13 years apart Ed Died in August 2006 And Lorraine died in April 2019

'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' is a great movie too
as it's thought most ghosts/spirits can cause cold air spots, electric issues, noises/knocks; demons/bad spirits are known to sometimes have a sulfur smell around them, so yes, demons smell like farts :)

If you're curious on any horror movie suggestions, then I highly recommend "It follows" (2014) if you haven't seen it yet. It's basically this deadly STD that takes form of any human and "it follows" you around until you're dead. It's a really solid horror flick!

I would recommend Insidious. IMO that series and the conjuring series are the two best currently in the horror genre.

I met Lorraine Warren (rip) in 2013 and visited the museum with the artifacts from their cases including the Annabelle doll which is actually a Raggedy Ann doll. The museum is attached to their home in Connecticut.
I recommend Thirteen Ghosts from the early 2000s. One of my favorite horror movies. I think you guys would enjoy it.

My grandma use to tell us that demons smell like rotten eggs. She told me when her abusive step dad died the entire funeral home smelled like rotten eggs and her mom (my great granny) said “this demon is stinking up the place, the devil is draggin him back to hell” my mom then added “when we would hang out at the cemetery (small town for some reason that’s what they did for fun) and passed by his grave it always smelled like eggs”
Seen Bloody Mary once with my friends. This was before the challenges so it was not for tiktok or youtube. Saw a green skull come out of my mirror and scream at me. Been a believer ever since.
My paranormal team and I spent the night there a couple of months ago for an investigation. The house is again up for sale in Harrisville section of Burrillville Rhode Island for a mere $1.2 million. I am also friends with Andrea Perron who is the eldest daughter from the family the movie is based on. She is such a wonderful person.

If you guys enjoyed this, watch THE HAUNTED (1991). I believe it's free to watch on TH-cam. It's also based off of another Warren case. It is, IMO, the scariest haunted house movie ever made.
The original Poltergeist from the 1980’s.
My best friend lent this to me on DVD, told me nothing about the plot and I took it home and watched it alone, in the dark on Halloween night during a thunderstorm lol. One of the worst errors in judgment I've ever made😳. It terrified me and refuse to sleep with my feet out of the covers to this day!🤣

This is one of my top fav haunting films, very well done! For another good haunting film, I recommend watching The Others (2001), also if you're up for another classic werewolf film, I suggest checking out Stephen King's Silver Bullet (1985).
Maybe not Silver Bullet but the Others is pnly saved by the twist. Suspiria is pretty nuts

I "liked" The Conjuring 2 a bit more. And when I say like I mean it scared me to the core. I grew up in an old renovated convent where nuns used to live and the whole time in the movie I felt The Nun could leave the movie somehow and enter our home.
The fact that those stories are based on true families and what they experienced is terrifying. Although the Annabell doll is actually a Raggedy Ann doll. Makes it a bit more creepy 😅

Good to Excellent Horror Movies:
- The Conjuring 2 (It can be argued that it is better than the original). Don't forget to watch the scenes during the credits, it shows the real families that the conjuring stories are based on.
- Insidious 1 (Also directed by James Wan and Staring Patrick Wilson).
- Poltergeist (Used real bodies and four of the actors died within a few years after the film was made, including the little girl).
The following are decent horror films, they are not quite good, but solid 7's or perhaps low 8s:
- "It Chapter 1" (not chapter 2)
- Ready or Not (Horror Comedy)
- Don't Breathe
- Escape Room isn't a horror movie despite what some people may say, but is also a decent watch
- A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
- Scream (1996) Meta-horror
- The Ring (2002)

A Tale of Two Sisters please!
Horror based on a true story is not 100% fact, it's a vague interpretation of part of a story they found interesting. For example, Texas Chainsaw Massacure was loosely/lightly based on the story of Ed Gein. Silence of the Lambs had Buffalo Bill based on Ed Gein. Two totally different movies took small parts of real life to make a horror movie. So always take Based on a True Story with a grain of salt, more often than not, it means they wove a movie from a tidbit or two.
I seen this movie when it first came out and never noticed the dad was from Office Space. Lol. My favorite Conjuring movie is the second one. Hope you both watched it this Halloween season.
Along with a few others such as Hereditary, Mama and Insidious (three horror films that are essential viewing and ones you simply must do) this is one of the best horror films of the modern era. The second and third are also fantastic. Not much for the Conjuring expanded universe, but the main vein films bleed just fine 😂🤣😂🤣
1. Can we burn the doll? NO! Do not burn the doll! It will just free whatever is bound to it.
2. Do Demons smell like farts? Yes. The smell is Sulfur, like rotten eggs and Demons smell like this because Hell has a lot of Sulfur.
3. The bruises on her body are like bug bites from whatever is feeding off of her.

Ed and Lorraine Warren were amazing irl. They both passed away now and to this day they have priests go to they're property to bless the room with the cursed items. It's all legit. The true stories. You should look up their interviews. They were incredible and their love was beautiful.
