Perfect! Exactly what I will do. Although my idle up will be set to the vr1 channel so I can turn that instead off keep pressing a button to up the idle speed. This in theory will work the same as the original multifunction knob on the tqi
Great video , I have a XRT with Castle Creations Mamba Combo XLX2 , 800Kv motor set up. My question to you , I would like to use the Traxxas light kit that's design for this model , what do I need in order for me to run this kit and possibly in its simplest form ?
If you have the traxxas light kit with the voltage dropper ( the black box that connects to the main battery and has a red lead to the receiver ) then all you need to do is wire the power leads to the main battery + and - then run the sy-rc light switch from a spare channel on the receiver and connect the red wire to the sr-rc switch and you will be able to control the light, or but put the red wire to + from the receiver and it will power on the lights whenever you power on the esc
I have question please:: I was updating the TQi receiver firmware via the RC mobile app. while updating the update failed. Now the RC working fine with other receiver but the updated receiver doesn't bind with the remote. How can I fix this issue by resting and recover the receiver only.
Thanks for being the font of knowledge on all things SkyFly Noble. Question: What is the range of the FGR4S micro receiver? Can it be run in a box, or is it best to run it alone? I can't find any useful info about this unit online. All very vague. I have a Noble on the boat coming to me and wish to use the small receiver as I only need 2 channels for my basher. If you have any experience with this little receiver some info about it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
The fgr4s works fine in RC cars I run it in some of my race rc's, but a boat needs a long antenna to get the best range if the radio box is below the water line then the signal will be blocked so better to go with one of the antenna receivers :)
@@WTFRCCars Thanks for the quick reply. The build is a heavy duty M2C/Hobbywing/Vitavon Xmaxx basher. I'm hopeful I can run that little receiver in the existing box/location without much issue. The Max5 being mounted right above it is why I'm curious about its abilities. I'll find out as soon as the boat from China arrives. Leaving your channel on play through for the evening! Cheers!
Should work fine for you, fgr4s gets around 200m range so long as it's not covered be metal parts nb4 from China should have both fgr4s and fgr4 receiver, the fgr4 is bigger but has the antenna and 300m range so might be the best option it's about the size of a traxxas receiver
Hi there! New to the channel and only watched a few videos but found them very informative and a pleasure to watch. I am considering upgrading the radio of my TRX4 Defender and this one with this receiver seams to fit the bill. I have two questions: 1- Does this system read the vehicles battery? The ESC has low battery cut off but it would be nice to have that info. 2- Is it possible to use one of the channels to turn the lights on and off? Thank's for sharing
Hi, yes the fgr8b can read the voltage of the lipo and the voltage it's being given by the esc, you can control the traxxas lights off the transmitter using an sy-rc light switch I have vids on setting up both in the trx4 playlist :)
Say you have a winch wired to the receiver, what channel would you use? I'm thinking of upgrading from the GT5, and the GT5 has the 4th channel 3 position switch which works perfectly for a winch.
You don't need expo you just need to set the end points correctly, easiest way is to turn them down in both directions to 10 and then put the servo saver on and switch the channel then slowly increase the end point until it changes gear or locks/unlocks the diff
Just got mine today and have you tried connecting the battery voltage sensor? My NB4 said that the version on the receiver is newer than the radio if I pushed update rx so this new batch might already have the new firmware.
It will always say it's a newer version you have to put the receiver into update mode, but don't try to update it as there is no fgr8b code in the nb4 you need a new nb4 firmware to allow it to update, at the min it only supports firmware update to FGr4, fgr4s, fgr4p no fgr8b, the instructions say the external voltage will be enabled on firmware V2 but it's not out yet should have been September but been held back with all the covid stuff :(
I love your channel! This is very helpful im thinking of getting this radio. I saw youre using 5000 3S lipo. How did you fit that in the tray? Where can I can get that battery hold down? Ive just been using straps and its so hard to use. Thanks!
Hi and thanks, tha battery is a yowoo power 5000mah 3s and drops straight into the stock battery tray, www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B072VFPT27/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9etMFbW8DC21F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 The battery bar is same dimensions as the stock one just made from alloy, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124247571279
@@WTFRCCars I see my lipo is just so tall for the hold down bar. Im about to get this radio hopefully I can figure out how to put the cruise control on the idle up button lol. Thank you I appreciate it 👍
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to update the firmware on the fgr8b receiver. I can't get it so slow blink. Am I missing something? Every time I check receiver update, it says it's up-to-date but no battery sensor option. Also how did u manage to turn on and off lights?
for the light switch follow this vid :) th-cam.com/video/svLOg-CldBE/w-d-xo.html as for update your not holding the bind button long enough for it to enter update mode :) it takes a bit for it to enter :)

I have my cruise control set to one of the dials on the grip so I just roll it up or down I just use the button to turn on/off cruise :)
Excellent explanation and super helpful. Gonna buy Trx-4 soon. Can't wait to do the upgrade. Subbed!

Any apart from ch1 or ch2 it makes no difference at all

No flysky fgr8b for the nb4 radio
