5:22 So I watched about 5 different videos on solving this problem and this one actually worked! The one thing this guy tries that I hadn’t seen yet it wetting the lightning charger and inserting it in:out multiple times! As soon as I did that, my problem was solved! Thank you!
Note* make sure it you are spraying a liquid inside your phone/ on your charger, it’s electronic friendly…

OK, here we go. After more than one year being able to charge my Iphone 13 only with a wireless charger after watching many YT videos on how to clean the port I found this video yesterday and I just did the whole process a while ago. I switched my phone on and plugged the cable in and I cant believe my eyes - IT IS CHARGING. Man, you saved me a lot of troubles and eventually money for having the port replaced (over 150 USD in my country). THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

This was the only method that worked for me… Cost a few dollars for the materials, but it was worth it. The type/quality of Q-tip maters.

Couldn’t figure out how to get that q tip in there, good idea with the hammer. Used rubbing alcohol and it works great now!

Tech school teaches to use ISOPROPYL ALCOLHOL to clean contacts like this. (All I've ever used). It does not leave a residue and evaporates in seconds after use. It's WAY cheaper then the WD-40 C.C. and sold just about everywhere; Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and most grocery stores.

For a single good clean on a contact brasso metal polish is your best to remove light corrosion and residue.
Not for repeated uses for contacts once or twice isopropyl will take dirt off but if any corrosion is present unlikely to resolve.
Plating is likely thin as hell these days so go easy

My charging port works perfectly now that I did this. Before I had to just leave my phone in one position for it to charge. Now that is not the case anymore. Thankyou

Thanks so much. The trick of saturating the qtip with contact cleaner worked for me. I could see the literal grime and lint in there!

i do not usually comment on videos I was so frustrated that my phone wasn’t charging and I had to try everything how it would work and I was very
Scared that it would cost me very much but now since I watched your video and tried the same that is plugging in plugging out the charger it worked wonders. I’m very happy man I’m very happy. Thank you thank you bro thank you thank you thank you. God bless you🎉

My iPhone 13 Pro was really hard to charge, the last 2 days, it was no longer charging ! I was about to spend like 150 euros to change the charging port then I saw this video. I read the comments and bought some isopropyl alcohol for 9 euros and tried this technique. My port was really dirty, I had already taken out the dust before but the connector was really dirty, after cleaning it, it charged ! At first I had an error message saying there was liquid then let it dry and charged ok !

Thanks. I've been sticking the lightning cable into a cup of isopropanol before plugging it in to charge, hoping that the clean contacts on the cable would clean the contacts in the phone.

I realised that the dust in my port was blocking the charger from going in fully. That’s why it wasn’t making a connection and charging
I held it up to the light and used a really small flat screwdriver and noticed the dust had collected at the back towards to two sides.
Softly I removed this dust that had squashed itself especially at the two corners.
Once I saw it coming out I tried the charger. This time it felt like it went in all the way and the charging began immediately
    🎉🎉🎉

I thought the hammer was the last solution, if all else fails you bash your phone in 😂😂

Thanks for the tip about flattening the Q-Tip with a hammer. That worked well. I also used contact cleaner (or you can use alcohol) instead of WD40. Another thing I would recommend that I found in another video is to use a pointy wooden toothpick to get all the compacted lint out of the port before you blow anything out or attempt to clean the contacts. I was going to buy a new phone, but now it's charging perfectly.

you can also just fold a tissue to be really small but touch and use it while it's a bit wet, also make sure to clean the contacts on your charging cable.

Great video. I was doing similar but not nearly as rigourously. And it was working off and on. More rigour and repetition. Thanks. [I was a little concerned when I saw the hammer at the start of the video though :) ]. Thank you.

After applying more rigour, and the hammer on the cue tip, my iphone8 plus works like new. I had considered magnetic charging but it does not work well on the road. And I was looking at a new $1000 iPhone, even though my iPhone 8 Plus works great. Thanks.

My brother was watching this video and wasn’t paying attention and used regular WD-40 , my question is, his phone still able to work
He followed every step but used the wrong WD-40
I haven’t turned it on but I hope it’s not destroyed

    • @DIYGEEKTEXAS
      @DIYGEEKTEXAS  ปีที่แล้ว

the problem with WD-40 is that it does NOT evaporate! Try removing the WD-40 remnants as much as possible.

  • @77ranman

WD 40 leaves residue and would further collect lint since it is oil based. My choice would be electrical contact cleaner on the Q-tip which would dry completely and leave no residue.😎

    • @viking56737
      @viking56737 ปีที่แล้ว +13

That’s not regular WD 40. It’s their version of a contact cleaner, it does not leave a residue.

Use Isopropyl Alcohol, it's what the tech schools teach to use.

  • @mrsmith8436

Never do this. Skip the cotton swab and oil. Just use the toothpick

  • @sukhmansingh6179

So you get it wet, shov it in, move it in & out side to side until all the dirt comes out, give it a nice blow jb before turning it on 😂😂😂
