Shoot yeah for sure. So, I'd say that you use the lip hook method way more than you use the anal fin method. Is there a time, or condition that dictates which method you use? Gotta love that Rodman Green Sheen color on those fish. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tracy! When ever I'm running shiners under floating weeds I use the anal fin method. But your right most of the time I prefer to hook them in the lips.
I have never been able to find wild shiners when I've been to your area to fish. I have fished a few spots, but mostly Rodman. Some of the bait shops have signs as big as my house."WILD SHINERS". I go in and all they have is minnows. Can you help a pathetic fisherman out with this? Also, how do you keep them alive? Can I buy them them evening before? By the way, another amazing vdo!
You need to order them in advance. Hawthorne Bait in Hawthorne and Eagle bait and tackle in Keystone. Also Advantage Sports in Salt Springs. Also you need to learn how to catch your own. There are many videos on You Tube that can help you here. As for keeping them alive you need to have a large livewell with a strong air bubbler than hooks up to one of your boat batteries. Good luck to you and thank you for watching my videos!
Advantage in salt springs is awesome. If your coming from the north cassells mobile bait on lochloosa is super super awesome. If you're near bryant there's huge numbers at the end of the put in where it opens up to the lake. Throw a handfull of layer chicken feed between each of the boat slips, near the grass and near any emergent veg between the canal and just past the first dock to the left and then go back through with a cast net after 5 or 10 minutes and you'll fill your livewell.
I hit up the ocklawaha cause it was too windy to get on the big lake but I see your not scared, I caught several between 3 and 6 pounds but nothing like the ones your pulling out from under those weeds
Yeah the wind can really make it tough sometimes! Sounds like you caught some nice fish in there! I've been fishing in there myself lately! Almost got stuck in there a couple of days ago! Had to get out of the boat and push it over a couple of logs to get to my good fishing holes, but it paid off! Again thanks for watching William and good fishing to ya!
