In case you haven’t checked out Roman the guitarists playthroughs, I highly recommend them. He tends to be passed over compared to the others in the band but his creativity with riffs is unreal.
Another great Jinjer reaction. The thing I love the most about them is that they can be as brutal as hell like this song and never lose their groove. It's amazing. And I watched the really old videos like 2012's "Exposed As A Liar" or 2014's "Cloud Factory" and they excellent as well. I think this band was great even early one. Also Tatina is able to use her voice as an instrument to match so well what the guys do musically and they've all grown together.
This is surely a punch in the face from the start, and I know, I've been there. But as you see it evolves in the second part with some cool variety. Ten listens from now you'll be hearing just the good stuff. Or not. Depends how you're wired. Keep doing Jinjer, we're here for it.

I’m no musician by any means-at all-but I love how you break everything down and I can still smell what you’re stepping in. My favorite is that breakdown after not my path not my past not my trust and the bass…twang?…lol.. Love it. One of my favorites And we all know you’re sweaty because you were jumping rope in the attic 😉
This is one of their heaviest tracks, but they do go this heavy quite a bit even in their new album Wallflowers. You should remind yourself how heavy Mediator was for example. I do agree that Tatiana is a lot more diverse in the newer stuff, which can only be a positive for the band. Captain Clock is another great song from their 2016 album 'King of Everything' that you could react to.
Yeah. I'm gonna have to go back and check out mediator again. It's funny. In the two months I've been on here I've done 75 reactions. Some stuff has stuck like glue in my head and other stuff has just merged together! Maybe I should do a "Second Pass" type thing where I revisit songs I did earlier with better context.
@@PrymalChaos that's only to be expected with reactions. It'd be too much to remember everything you hear on the channel. That 'Second Pass' idea is interesting. You could make one video per band way later on when you've reacted to a lot of their tracks.
I think I fanboy over Eugene as much as I do Tatiana. He's one of my favourite working bass players, and I'd love to be half as good as he is. But I digress. The official live video of "Cloud Factory" is pretty awesome. There's a live video of "Bad Water" from the same show that's also great.
While their style changed over the years and each album being very different to each other, this is actually still one of their hardest and most aggressive songs and basically their antifascist message after getting disturbed by some neonazis at some point. This song is also what the Napalm Records CEO heard and which gave them an instant contract with them. It also works great for just general household chores. At least when you're just as unmotivated to do those as I am. :)
Hahaha. Yeah I think I mistook the aggressiveness of this song for a period of the band's work rather than an individual statement. I didn't realise that this was the same era as Pisces, etc.
This is Jinjer's anti-fascism song, "Right Paw UP". It is aimed at the right wing parties gaining influence in her country. She uses their motto against them "It's not my path, It's not my past, It's not my trust". Tatiana's vocals tend to make people forget about how good a writer she is.

This is the song that got them signed to Napalm Records. The wrote and released this song 1 month after their old apartment building was blown up in the Crimea War
the second song off their 2014 album cloud factory called a plus or a minus has got some insane drive to it as well , the first song off that album is still my fave called outlander, i discovered jinjer in 2014 while watching massappeal , vicious circle and depression vids , all great aussie bands , outlander popped up as a recommendation and iv'e been hooked since .
I agree - Outlander is somewhat under-appreciated today. But I agree, it's an early classic. Vocals-wise, Tati really peels the paint off the walls with Sit, Stay, Roll Over.
Well this band started in 2009 so id say more in the middle also when you check out earlier than this you will see a different jinjer again.great reaction 👍🏻🤘🏻
This is one of the two and a half songs in Jinjer's catalog whose lyrics weren't written by Tatiana, they were written by Eugene. The other song is Dreadful Moments and the "half song" is the last part of Pisces, where Tatiana got kind of stuck and Eugene, being a Pisces too, gave a little help. 🙂
You can still find so many different styles of songs from this era. This is from the album King of Everything. I suggest you check out another one from that album and it´s totally different from this one: "I Speak Astronomy".
A different look and a different drummer from Pisces even though same album. Probably the title track from Cloud Factory is my favorite Jinjer song. But you can see a definite progression both vocally and musically in these albums. And they also matured professionally in the videos.
If I introduce someone to all the bipolar that is Jinjer, I just play them this song followed by the song “Beggar’s Dance” off the same album. I would like to suggest going back one more record and watching the videos for the songs “Outlander” and “Cloud Factory”. They are what hooked me into this band years ago. 🤘😎🤘 MTFBWY!!!

Will be seeing them for the first time at the opening show of the tour...I really don't know if I have ever been this excited to see a band and I have seen many.
Yeah I had no idea! I feel like I mistook the aggressiveness of this track for rawness. I can see now that it is just an outlier. A very awesome powerhouse of an outlier. 🤘🤘
yo! been afk for a bit but awesome to jump back in! Same album that Pisces was on, as well as the Jinjer song I want you to check out so bad I Speak Astronomy! Seems you went back to Jinjer the same time I came back XD coincidence or meant to be 🤔 lol well maybe if this was I Speak Astronomy I would say meant to be XD this song goes hard though!
Pisces is great but its basically the ballad of the album and I would continue to argue that I Speak Astronomy is the best song on the album with the crescendo at the end one of the best in the genre.
This and the Cloud Factory album are, in my opinion, the best Jinjer. Heavy as fu&k, but still a thrash metal foundation. Unfortunately they’ve embraced the same philosophy as another former favorite of mine, Opeth, and become so proggy they’re unlistenable to me now. Now it’s just a Eugene/Roman off-time signature wankfest. I wish Dmitry Oksen would’ve come back into the lineup for the dual guitar attack again!💪🏻🤘🏻
Hey mate, I appreciate your perspective. I guess the longer a band exists and the more they produce, the higher the likelihood that they will evolve in such a way that they drift away from some of their audience. @@PrymalChaos I get that. Their more progressive stuff has gotten popular. But they have heavy songs like this right beside them on their albums. But for a great example of this, look at the album Crack The Skye by Mastodon. It's considered an amazing progressive album, but it has heavy songs (like "Crack the Skye" and "The Last Baron") right there with more melodic and musical songs (like "Oblivion" and "The Czar"). This was the song and music video which got them signed to Napalm Records. Their whole discography (Tati era) is just remarkably solid piece of work.
