She is undoing treatment for cancer & I would say going by my own experience has probably lost over a stone in weight since we last saw her. Like myself, that shows in her much slimmer face especially around her mouth which emphasises her teeth making them look bigger. As far as looking older & wearing too much make-up she will have taken hours look this good. & I did exactly the same. The only difference is I was going to the local shop, hospital or doctor’s where she was on the Central Stage of the World, & seen by millions of people. She would have been very aware that she would have been greatly admired, but also examined minutely by others who had no other interest than to find fault or make disparaging comments about her appearance. A bit like you have done, or even worse if you see some of the comments in the media today. So sad & considering the horrible weather as well she did marvellously. My guess is she probably felt like curling up with a good book in her PJs wrapped in her favourite cuddly blanket.

Catherine turning up yesterday was amazing and I can’t imagine how hard that was for her
Unfortunately, I think most people are afraid of illnesses and finding out more about them to be empathetic. It seems to be the same with long-term diseases, as well. At least in the last 20 years or so. People used to be more caring and helpful. Now, it's a struggle to just get respect. Sad commentary. I agree that she did a wonderful job getting through that day. I fully expected her to duck out at some point. I think her duty pulled her through. I hope you are well on your way to being finished with chemo and healing quickly. Stay strong, rest well, and know that you are not alone. 🙏

I had a 6 inch growth spurt at age 12, and kept going. I'd say that boy will be taller than his mother by next Trooping the Colour. We were commenting the same thing about all of their growth spurts in the last 6 months. This is one gorgeous family!
