My fascination with this place, its animals and its wonderful People continues... The farrier (I learned a new word) gentleman... is SO COOL. Impressive work and obviously loves his job... and horses. Jessie is also something special... her knowledge and handling of the horses is very impressive.

The girl with the blue glasses has the MOST beautiful hair I've ever seen!!! She's also so calm, confident and so damn strong!!! She's my favorite!!

Horses are looking much better than when they were brought in . The mare Cocoa tho , I think SUMBODY hurt her in her past around her rear end and its highly possible she was used as a horse in harness even tho it prob wasnt for long .They prob didnt properly train her and hurt her during training , cos she should'nt be so jumpy around her hind end like that .She looks like such a darling mare that needs time with a person willing to work with her .

What were the skin bumps/lesions(?) On the leg of the brown horse ?
I was hoping they would tell us I remember this horse from the previous episode I hope he will be ok
I had a thought after reading the FB post about what feed is best for the emaciated horses. I would think that if the best food source for these poor starved horses is alfalfa and it doesn't grow well where you are, could it not be grown in green houses or indoor facilities with grow lights? I realize for a facility as large as yours it would take up a fair amount of space and extra work to keep up with demand and I'm sure you all have enough on your plate but in general, I'm surprised no one is tapping into that market locally. It would be great for you guys to have a local source. And for anyone doing it in-house, it would also save a lot of money. An indoor facility with grow lights would make a lot more sense, the beds can be stacked from floor to ceiling.
I've actually looked into this option for once I find a property mainly due to the horrific Canadian winters when there's not a blade of green grass for 6 months of the year. Once everything is set up, it's basically free alfalfa all year long. Kind of like how they grow "medical" marijuana but alfalfa...and legal! lol

do you ever train horses to go bit-less? Don't like metal bits in a horse's mouth.
How about drilling drain holes in the feed Trough
Bridle/bit is too loose. Should have two wrinkles at the side of the mouth. It may seem tight but it's all about where the bit sets between the teeth. The only thing we used a shankless snaffle bit was for driving/groundwork and bitting work.

I have a bad feeling about that University. I know how thay test products on animals. I pray the two horses you sent in the past that never made it out of there. God please let the other 2 you sent make it out. You said and I see how the horses get fat and healthy with you Why send them to a place you don't see what thay are doing ? The only issue I have is why use painful bits and bridles? You don't need them to ride, you all have great knowledge of horses and you can see the horses are very uncomfortable bc they cause pain in their mouth.

Looks like when it rains water stands around your barns. Might try installing French drains tying the down spouts to them and pulling it away from the barns. Just a suggestion might help.

You have some really pretty and happy looking cats there. I rescue cats with the Humane Society in my area. People are terrible to cats and dogs as well as horses.

tawnee i was just checking too see if you guys are with out power for long periods of time theirs a simple fix for this and too me its solar for just backup power not for running your whole operation it could be a easy fix for being with out power and i would say use it as like a battery backup system store what you need too run a day or three of power so it can power ref and mostly computer systems backup

What does that program do with the horses once the protocol is over? This worried me from the episode at the auction. I hope they have a good plan for them or do they send them back to your facility once they are fattened up?
