Oh my gosh Kate...when you said Cooper will do things like take your phone and not give it back but then you have to say "you better give it back, or im going to get your Dad!" THAT IS TOTALLY MY SON!!! My son also has severe non-verbal Autism. I relate to you in so many ways, I cannot wait to buy your book!!! He was diagnosed at age 3, now being 13 I used to think I got over the grief stages. However, I've come to realize I'm still going through it. Non-verbal is really hard 😢 I know God has plans for our lives!!! I keep him close in prayer!!!❤

I know your faith has taken a blow and I have no idea how God will let my soul live on BUT it is sort of fun to think about you and Cooper in heaven. He says: Hi Mom, I love you. You say: You are talking!
He says: well, nobody needs words in heaven so you are in my world now, except you can hear me. You: Man, this is great - nobody knows I am in the same clothes. Cooper: What clothes? No body, no clothes - It is my world! Don’t you love this train? You: What? Heaven is a train?
In the distance you hear, “All aboard!”

If he is driving. Period. It's absolutely crazy how he acts behind the wheel!! My daughter is in competition dance and we travel in the car long distances at least twice a month. Mostly always to Orlando. There is going to be traffic. There are going to be wrecks. There are going to be other people on the road. One time he couldn't go and WOW! The absolute difference in both my daughters attitude and mine when we got to the hotel was shocking and kind of sad. He's never gone on another long trip with us, and he isn't invited!! It's stressful enough rushing around and packing, trying not to forget anything. I have no patience or desire to deal with a man child that can't control his anger.
You and Jamie are a great couple.

Yes, I had a niece who is wonderful and now has 5 kids and has a great family. - But at 3, she was using asthma attacks to get her way … she knew …
Oh lord are those people wrong…GIRLS ARE HARD!!!! Their “girl power” starts really young!!!
I’m sorry people speculate on your daughter like that. People suck sometimes like shove it. I have learned so much from you. My niece is like cooper. She has limited words and hardly uses them. It’s hard & I worry so much about the future. I can relate with the screaming & people stare as if she’s being spoiled. It’s scary as the get bigger 😢
How would you like to have been supported around that 2,3 and 5th grade. My best friend and I both have autistic sons but mine talks, it potty trained, is in gen ed (with supports) all the things and her isn’t there yet (both in 2nd grade). I feel like I can’t share my wins and she doesn’t share much of her struggles with me anymore (understandably so). I want to be there and stay besties but I don’t know how to bridge the gap
