Just did mine on a 2002 caravan. I didn't remove anything from the top except the shift cable. I supported the trans and took the 3 bolts out of the mount below the radiator (they go straight up and nothing is in the way) and lowered the transmission about 2 more inches and the mount just about fell out the wheel well. I see somebody in the comments below didn't remove the battery and cruise either. Saves a bunch of time.
Got this done, THANK YOU for posting. My center front mount and bracket are MISSING. I've got the parts just trying to find the hardware (bolts) but just doing under the engine mounts has helped a lot.
Excellent video. Thanks! Please include the torque specs in your next video. For the Dodge Caravan 2001-05 is 50lbs. Key issue, since dealing with vibrations need to be very specific.
I have a 06 Chrysler town and country, recently had installed front struts, 8 months later hearing clunk sounds in front area, had 2 bad engine mounts, so you never know where sounds could be actually coming from until a thorough inspection is done.
I gave the video a thumbs up for the detailed content. You did a great job covering all the steps during the removal and replacement process. However, you seemed to be in a rush (I'm guessing you were on the clock?) so some of the video cut away so quickly I had to keep going back and pausing to really see some of the stuff you were talking about. Don't be afraid to add just a couple of seconds to each section to let us really see what you want us to see. Don't get me wrong Fat Guy! I'm absolutely going to use your video to replace my trans mount today. Just passing on some constructive criticism for your next video. Thanks again!
How do you gain access to 2927? Which mounts would cause the van to ride very rough to where you can feel the engine through the body every time you press the gas
Upper mount assembly to transaxle bolts: 54 N-m (40 ft lbs). Mount-to-bracket thru-bolt: 75 N-m (55 ft lbs). This is from the 2006 Town & Country, Caravan service manual from Chrysler.
Nope, garbage. Bought the motor mount kit from Rock. The top mount transmission linkage holder was 3mm to large. Didn't find out until the very end of the job and had to start over, go to the local parts store and buy another brand.
Also, the lower rear mount, the most difficult one to replace didn't have any threads in the hole for the heat shield bolt. Didn't find out it wasn't up to spec until the very last step of the replacement.

This is the best / most thorough video I've seen for this motor mount! Do you have to raise the transmission back up half an inch after you lower it?
U may. Depends on conditions of all other mounts

What were the symptoms with the bad trans mount?
Lots of movement when e brake is on and you go from drive to reverse. Possibly a clunk noise when on and off load. Depends how bad it is
Good Job on the video. Do you happen to have the torque specs for these bolts?
Just make it tight tight. Stop if u feel like it will break. Or google the specs. I never use tq specs
