    This is the good kind of touristy, IMO, as oppose to something like a beach resort. It still feels authentic and like it wasn't constructed just with tourists in mind.

    Those were the handprints of Jean-Paul Belmondo and Claudia Cardinale, huge stars of European films, one French, one Italian, during the 60s-70s. They definitely had screen charisma at their height of their careers!

    Gabriel,
    I think your underestimating people's interest in Europe. I think what we like is the way you do your videos. It feels as if you take us with you. Your unfiltered, spontaneous and honest comentary are always great. But, Europe is endlessly fascinating and people think they know, but in reality only superficially. You give us the every day guy perspective and budget. Unpretentious, genuine. But yeah, Europe is ever fascinating. It's not the simplified version we think we know. Keep up the good work!

      He sounds like a kid who did his assignment the morning it was due. I feel like because it is an expensive destination he really went in with a negative attitude. My grandma lives there and the city has a lot more to offer than shopping and overpriced food. Tons of history in this area, he didn't even mention how Grasse is the capital of perfume you can go to museums there and if you plan well can also book an appointment to have a custom made perfume. Monks, fortresses, churches...quiet islands to picnic and swim...

      Cannes is not a tourist trap, it is beautiful town. This channel does huge disservice to most amazing places on Earth, Gabriel rushes from airport to airport, has no idea where he is, the history of the place, cool places in towns he visits; a tourist trap? Are you drunk?

    • @PauloGaetathe_original
      @PauloGaetathe_original 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@valgehiir I don't question the beauty and historical value of Cannes but by the prices and the fact that the city is over run by tourists I think it`s a tourist trap, just like Venice, I love Venice and have met native Italians from there who can no longer afford to live there. The city belongs to the tourists now.

      Do you honestly think Cannes is a tourist trap? I really hope you are not serious. Would you call Nice and Monaco tourist trap, too? I think you mean extremely popular with tourists, and a tourist trap. Gabriel, I was meaning to ask you this question, and I do hope you would have the time to answer for me. I travel a lot too, though obviously no where near as much as you do. I travelled to 13 different European countries between May 2017 and December 2018 with a total number of 21 visits.
    Is it me, or does every country in Europe (especially the West) look exactly like every other place with the same feel? Is it because of globalization? Is it because I’ve travelled a lot, and have lost my appetite for traveling? I honestly don’t know what’s happening, to the point that it’s past mid August, and I still haven’t traveled anywhere in 2019. I have this feeling of being hesitant, and reluctance to spend any money on something I know would lead exactly to what I have in mind.

But it's Cannes so it's more expensive than elsewhere. I did see signs stating menu du jour around quite a bit with some cheaper prices, maybe 14 euros or so.
