This sounds spiritual but its true. I have a super strong desire to go deeper into Jesus by investing hours in the word of God and walks in the morning when I normally couldnt due to work. I have such a strong desire for closeness with Jesus this year. I miss Him.😢

Thank you for addressing screen management. That is my biggest challenge as a parent. My son particularly wants screens in the morning so it’s a huge challenge.

What we do is write out summer activities on paper, then put them in a jar and every child takes a turn taking one out and that's what we'll do in the day.

I live in Montana, but grew up in Ky-Tn. I grew up going to the Smoky Mountains tons. They are beautiful. I’ve now fallen in love with the Rocky Mountains. The hikes are incredible. Clingmans Dome. Cades Cove.

Thank you for encouraging parents to enjoy the gift of time with their kids and not just figure out things to keep them busy. I was able to be home and homeschool my two younger kids and loved having them around . If could do over would have loved to engage with them more

We have five kiddos (ages 3 to 17) and understand the need for routine even during summer months. It sounds so neatly packaged to have chores and areas of growth in the morning and the afternoons for screens or an outing. The struggle I have found is the kid's attitude and resistance towards this, as this is how things operate during the regular school year. I sensed this with your kiddos and some of the comments they made. :) I totally get that it's not about our kid's feelings (because few are the children that actually WANT to work and challenge themselves); however, having implemented this, it's not always as stress-free and smooth as it might sound. I really enjoy your videos and the content you include in them. Parenting feels like such an impossible task if it were not for knowing our kids ultimately are the Lord's.

Any trip outside of what we are so custom to. When we go camping in new places it’s always hard to leave. TN or NC mountains in hard places to travel are very rewarding and bring great rest.

I'm hoping this summer we will get to build a 4 wheeling trail in the jungle of our back yard. And screen out! No just kidding ...I'm too strict 4 that.
