Thanks for your recommendation, Lucy. I had a very similar learning path. Not traditionally trained (I didn't study Computer Sciences) BUT am self taught. Managed to become a Data Engineer and now a Solutions Architect. I appreciate you sharing your resources - I am in the middle of learning AWS policies (service account access to S3, cross account readability, roles, etc.) and it's very challenging. I am trying to find as many labs as I can to practice because it is very fast paced where I work. Subscribed :)

@@zeeshawnali4078 It took me a few years. I didn't know where to start, so I just starting learning SQL. Then I got into Python. Then Linux. Through my journey, just practicing tutorials and certifications, whatever I could find online. That helped me get a job. Then luckily, the organization I work for was switching over to the cloud, and I was exposed to AWS. Best of luck to you. If you're passionate about this kind of work, you can do it.

The last bit of your video (tips and tricks) just motivated me to keep going. It’s like you read my mind. I’ve been learning AWS-SA for a little over 6 months on and off and everything you said was true. I’ve almost came close to giving up, compared myself to others, etc. This encouraged me to keep pushing. Thank you

For the practitioner exam i would add the tips that do it as close to the completion of the course as you can because in it they ask a lot of questions that are specific to the course and if you let time pass by you will forget them

Currently I'm working on ccna but I'm gonna do a cloud when it's over. I was deciding between azure and aws. I feel aws will be the one I choose. This video is super helpful. "Be kind to yourself", that's the best piece of advice you gave me. Because I always feel like I'm under performing. Anyway, thanks for this video.

I loved the tips about Hands-On, because it's always a hardship to get market experience in a specific skill without previously experience. BUT with these kinds of Hands-On provided by Amazon seems like a great strategy to get over this gap. Thanks for the excellent video

Great video thanks I just attended an AWS Summit in Anahiem California to network with employees. I have a fairly good understanding of Cloud Computing I am pretty focused on Artificial Intelligence technology. Amazon is one of the world leaders on AI few people are even aware of this. Working through the process to figure out the best pathway to work for AWS. Thanks Lucy for the great video.

I love watching the 10+ hour courses for any/all new technologies on TH-cam from different credible influencers on the same subject and I get so into it 🤣. Nice! I Didnt realize how hard it is getting internships till i started trying to get one. Feels weird considering my friend got an internship even though he would ask me for help quite often for class(I go to school for a CompSci degree) lol.

I've just recently dived into the computer networking industry and was offered a job as a assistant network admin for a company in Seattle. Before getting this job I spent just under three months getting my CompTIA N+ and Linux+ certs and I also passed my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam after 3 days of studying. I know think I have a real knack for almost anything AWS and I either want to get in to software dev or Solutions Arch. If there is anyone out there with similar interest' I am always looking to make connections and work towards these goals as a group.

Hi, Lucy. Love your videos btw. You recommend that individuals start with the cloud practitioner cert, but most people I know who work with AWS say to start with the SAA because a lot of what's in the SAA is also in the cloud practitioner exam. So, I guess taking the SAA will cover most, if not all, of the cloud concepts. Is that accurate?
