Do you have the same solution for MS Forms, Thanks in Advance.
Subscribed! Thanks a lot for this it is very helpful. How do I add a 3rd or 4th column for grouping? Thanks in advance.
Thanks! The code only provides 2 groupings only. Thanks for the suggestion , will consider updating the template soon to allow for more groupings.
Hey there, i have updated the template to include 3rd & 4th column for additional grouping possibilities. Please click on the template link again in video description.
Thanks very much@@SheetSmarts
Is there a way to combine the template with the template from your other video "Limit form responses based on capacity?"
@user-rh1pw9cm5k Yes it will need some work as it involves copying the code from the sorting responses ( extensions -> Apps Script) and pasting into the limit form responses apps script
Hi, thanks a lot for this ! Do you happen to know if there's a way to work with checkboxes questions ? As in, if I check A, B and C on the monitored question, it populates three separate sheets, instead of creating an "a, b, c" sheet ? That would be VERY helpful, thanks
Ah I get what u mean, so if a user chose a,b,c , it creates 3 sheets named a,b and c . Yes it should be possible . Will look into it.
@@SheetSmarts thank you !
Hi @MadShearz, i have created a video based on your suggestion - check it out th-cam.com/video/CxOybQdZZcM/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
@@SheetSmarts thank you so much ! I will try this and let you know !
Do you have the same solution for MS Forms, Thanks in Advance.
Hi ! I have never used MS forms so I can’t help u right now , sorry 🙏
@@SheetSmarts No problem
Is there a way to do this without allowing createsheets full access to and editing/deleting rights to all my google sheets? That seems VERY excessive authorization needed to just run the script.
Yes it can be done with filter formulas but needs more work on the user’s part eg. Creating the separate sheets manually and inputting the formula in each sheet etc.
Safety Tip: Before granting permissions , it’s a good practice to check if the Google Apps Script is malicious by following these steps:
1. Access the Script Editor:
- In the sheet template, open the file and then go to Extensions > Apps Script.
2. Review the Script by copying and pasting in Co-Pilot or ChatGPT:
- Once in the Script Editor, you can view all the script files in the project.
- Copy script code n paste in AI chat program and ask it to evaluate the code by asking by copying and pasting the following qns:
a) What does this specific function do?
b) Are there any external requests or API calls in this script? - This will help identify if the script is sending data outside of your Google environment.
c) Does this script have the potential to modify or delete my data? - To understand if the script can alter or remove data in your Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.
d) What permissions will this script require and why? - Understanding why certain permissions are needed based on the script’s actions.
e) Is there anything in this script that looks suspicious or potentially harmful? - To identify any red flags or security concerns in the script.
f) Can any part of this script access my personal information?
Hi, I put out a video for users to check if script is safe so you can safely authorize it - th-cam.com/video/aWb2us_LW3c/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
