Haha! They did a great job on the model but the speed could be better. You mentioned a speed glitch and I had an encounter with quite a good one a month back. I had recently downloaded a DLS engine and when I put it in game it didn't work to well. The same as yours when I double headed it, it started to go much faster(about 450 extra mph). Turns out that putting two of that locomotive on the same map under the same number magically doubled the e specs settings. 🤔🤷 Sometimes I find it better to not think about what causes things to happen. On second note the Chinese in latter years primarily used much larger steam engines with 10 drivers. Can't remember there exact wheel arrangement. They were commonly double headed to pull China's large consists. A old DVD of mine shows a pair of them. Now I just need to find it.
The tractive effort of the D51 is 41,400lbs, easy enough to find. I have most of those Trainz JNR locos. I'm fairly sure the creator pointed out that that the engine configs weren't accurate. I replaced the configs with whatever seemed suitable. The D51 was the most numerous type in the final years of steam.

Degoichi's are one of the most beautiful engines I've seen in all my life
D51 is the best cuz it's the master of the railway
Where can I download the JNR D51 2-8-2
If you have the hanshin C62 Tender and it ain't faulty how do you fix it
You are not doing this right.
If you want to be fair, use DCC mode and start both locomotives simultaneously while having the game on pause.

I Wish The JNR D51 Raced Against Other Trains Than Western Pacific 99.
D51じゃ無理だろ!
せめてC53辺りで…
まぁ、まずD51自体貨物輸送用だしね。
比較するならC62の方が良かったな。
