The cast of KICKIN' IT should appear in special guest roles on COBRA KAI. Not as their Disney counterparts but as new characters relevant to the storyline of season 6.
Something you surprisingly didn’t mention is that marg the lunch lady is played by Loni Love who would go on to star on a talk show called the real which is what she is most known for.
This show caused me to get a black belt in karate. I also wrote a self insert episode where Jack has a younger sister and she was more popular than him and he was mad.
Honestly all I remember from the show was the theme, being surprised that Leo finally got a lead role after Leo Little’s Big show was on for a while, and I thought Olivia was cute lol
If I had to describe Eddie as a character, I would say he's the Average Joe & the most normal out of the other character. He's basically the Winston (Ghostbusters) of the show. Sad he wasn't so defined, but if I had a chance to rewrite his character, I would make him The Heart of the group who always brings everyone together. You see the other character argue in the show, they could've made Eddie give them moral support to solve their conflict with one another
1:52:06 The Middle is such a good show and it sucks that no one talks about it on TH-cam. I would be so down to watch a retrospective on The Middle since it was on of my favorite childhood tv shows. So thanks for shouting it out 😊
24:10 I have to disagree. As someone who did martial arts when I was younger, it’s very hard to hit those or push them over. They’re weighted at the bottom and made of hard plastic, so the fact that she was able to knock those over with a single strike is pretty impressive, especially for a middle schooler
1:07:22 Bobby Wasabi carrying Rudy out of the Reptile World pet store is a parody of Richard Gere carrying Debra Winger at the end of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN.
Did anyone not notice the Hannah Montana reference with Phil and Rudy? When they mixed the chocolate and falafel, that was a reference to the cheese jerky scene with Jackson and Oliver.
the main thing I think of when that show comes to mind is the music video where they climb out of a picnic basket an a group of people don't get freaked out about this at all
23:43 in my experience (granted not in martial arts specifically) there is always some parent or somebody taking pictures and videos. Especially for non school related high school aged sports. That’s how you get scouts and stuff to show up and hopefully get to your kid a scholarship.
Quinton Reviews gotta be thanked for my favorite new format of youtube videos/ retrospectives which are long ass reviews. I remember when Eddie left the show man me and my sister thought it was cuz they were racist 😂
I’m a huge fan of the “sensor not being on” explanation because I like to imagine what it must of have been like to realize they did all those stunts for nothing. Like they’re cool when they’re necessary, but a little silly when they’re not
That's dedication to do a almost 4 hour video on it. Kickin' It and Zeke and Luther were my favorite two shows to watch on Disney XD growing up, they had some deep topics buried within the humor of these shows.
3:44:18 While I agree Eddie did seem to feel like an afterthought at times, I wouldnt say he didn't have a character. He was always supposed to be the "mamas boy" of the group. I think the two episodes that show that off best are Reality fights where he was the only one that didn't seem to let the fame get to them (even with the twist at the end) and Indiana Eddie where he wants to be an archeologist even if everyone else thinks it is ridiculous he still believes in being one. While him leaving in season 3 was not that big a loss as his character was not as strong as the rest, I think them deciding to never mention him at all as if he was never there was a dumb move. Like I swear I remember a clipshow episode in season 4 where because they couldnt use clips of Eddie all the footage was from s3 and s4 only. Looking forward to part 2 seeing what u think of the later seasons this was one of my favorite sitcoms with a kid alongside I’m In The Band. (Idc what people say that show is peak)
I loved reality fights for him. They utilized his "just there" energy seamlessly there. It's immensely satisfying that not only does he win but the rest of the gang give him props for being strategic the whole time. Honestly wholesome as heck
Oh not even in series recap clips? That leads me to think they just couldn't show any footage with him there cause of contract reasons involving using any stuff he was present after he willingly left for school and desire for a more private life and not anything malicious. Though I ain't in the biz, just speculating
@@CarlosHernandez-el4oc i remember that episode and that song lol. ngl I always thought that Jerrys role in that episode wouldve been Kim's if Olivia Holt wasnt filming Girl vs Monster.

I loved Kickin It when it was airing, and I rewatched it for the first time last summer and had so much fun doing it. Genuinely the most fun kids show rewatch experience I've had. The first two seasons are so good and funny and have quite a few memorable episodes / plotlines. I also could write a whole essay about how Jack and Kim's relationship was slowly and subtly built up. Cant wait to see what you have to say about the last two seasons, they're not bad but there's definitely a dip in quality.
I always thought it was a mistake to make Bobbi Wasabi fat because I didn't understand the reason why and I still think it was a mistake but now I know why, comedy. Still a mistake.
totally agree, as a kid, his characterization made the whole dojo franchise look like a joke and not like they took karate seriously (which they didn’t really but as a kid i wanted them to) compared to the black dragons for instance.
me neither at first but i think he’s supposed to be a parody of steven seagal whose story is one of a martial artist turned actor turned blowhard kinda like bobby. Granted i havent watched too far into the video and i dont remember much of bobby’s story but that’s how it looks at first glance especially considering bobby’s long hair, goatee and glasses
God I loved this show to death even when it slowed down in season 4 (No Tournments, No Kim/Jack Dynamic, Not even as Much Karate as I would've Liked) it was still cool and fun.
Does anyone remember Taylor, the blonde girl who was meant to be a replacement for Kim in Season 4 only to be dropped after three episodes? Fun fact: she was played by Veronica Dunne, best known as Marisa from K.C. Undercover.
You bringing up Psych and The Middle is crazyyyyy They’re like possibly my two favourite sitcoms ever, especially since they’re one of the rare ones that has aged pretty well, and I think most of the casts of both are pretty cool too
Nah cause that chocoballs plot is literally the cheese jerky plot from Hannah Montana and I REFUSE to believe that wasn't an intentional callback since Jason Earles is involved with both plots. 😭
I swear, in Disney Leo Howard was literally "Him" incarnate, this dude was everywhere, he plays as crushes, had his own show, was apart of the commercials cus the mfer was popular, a blackbelt who did his own stunts(mostly) on some prepubescent jackie-chan shit and was trained by the mfer that was Johnny in that one Mortal Kombat teaser and the main antagonist from Blood and Bone! This dude Leo was HIM during Disney XD

Undercover are clearly Keyan shows given how much they takes from Wizards and Lab Rats. Kirby Buckets is a Mr. Nostalgia show because it’s kind of a spiritual successor to Zeke and Luther in a lot to ways.
But who covers the Kirby Buckets shirt event?@@TheTekkenguy
@@sacrificiallamb4568 what shirt event?
They did an "event" where a piece of Kirby Buckets merchandise appeared in three live-action shows, Mighty Med, Lab Rats and something else. In Mighty Med, the item was a shirt that needed to be cleaned. They marketed it as an event, from what I hear.@@TheTekkenguy
i love how falafel phil just moved to another karate show
he works in the dealership in cobra kai
The cast of KICKIN' IT should appear in special guest roles on COBRA KAI. Not as their Disney counterparts but as new characters relevant to the storyline of season 6.
@@chazarcola7639 that's what i'm hoping for 🙏🏾
First Quinton, then Keyan and Jordan and NOW Mr. Nostalgia?! This nostalgia rabbit-hole just keeps getting deeper.💙🤦🏾
Is someone else going to join the fray?
Something you surprisingly didn’t mention is that marg the lunch lady is played by Loni Love who would go on to star on a talk show called the real which is what she is most known for.
I knew her from being a commentator on The Smoking Gun/Tru tv. Presents: World's Dumbest
And I think they even contrasted early in the episode when Milton was knocked by it after punching it, so they must be hard and heavy
1:07:22 Bobby Wasabi carrying Rudy out of
the Reptile World pet store is a parody of
Richard Gere carrying Debra Winger at the
end of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN.
Did anyone not notice the Hannah Montana reference with Phil and Rudy? When they mixed the chocolate and falafel, that was a reference to the cheese jerky scene with Jackson and Oliver.
Yo, you're so right! I didnt even realize that! 🤯
1:01:30 the writers of that episode actually wrote a few iCarly eps, including iSaved Your Life.
zeke and luther and pair of kings were great, but imo zeke and luther is one of the best disney shows
the main thing I think of when that show comes to mind is the music video where they climb out of a picnic basket an a group of people don't get freaked out about this at all
This show deserves a reunion special
A reunion on the last season of Cobra Kai.
i love the addition of the aired ads. they really unlock old memories thanks Mr. Nostalgia
23:43 in my experience (granted not in martial arts specifically) there is always some parent or somebody taking pictures and videos. Especially for non school related high school aged sports. That’s how you get scouts and stuff to show up and hopefully get to your kid a scholarship.
i love that you use the real promotions for the show
Quinton Reviews gotta be thanked for my favorite new format of youtube videos/ retrospectives which are long ass reviews.
I remember when Eddie left the show man me and my sister thought it was cuz they were racist 😂
A four hour video about a show I haven't thought about since I was a kid? PERFECT!
I’m a huge fan of the “sensor not being on” explanation because I like to imagine what it must of have been like to realize they did all those stunts for nothing. Like they’re cool when they’re necessary, but a little silly when they’re not
this show was called ''The Wasabi Warriors'' here in Brazil, and was throught it that i discovered one of my favorite dishes: falafel!
He reminds me when Gunther's actor in Shake It Up didn't show up in season 3 and wasn't even mentioned in the finale recape.
Oh not even in series recap clips? That leads me to think they just couldn't show any footage with him there cause of contract reasons involving using any stuff he was present after he willingly left for school and desire for a more private life and not anything malicious. Though I ain't in the biz, just speculating
His “Ninja Fighting” song was memorable
@@CarlosHernandez-el4oc i remember that episode and that song lol. ngl I always thought that Jerrys role in that episode wouldve been Kim's if Olivia Holt wasnt filming Girl vs Monster.
This show really meant a lot to me. When the show was coming out at the time, I was actually taking martial arts classes
2:06:11 Jack is wearing a t shirt with the cover art for the rap album The Low End Theory by Tribe Called Quest (probz my favorite band of all time). However, they put duck tape over the album name to avoid having to pay them.
Kickin’t walked for Cobra Kai to run Amazing video
I literally started binge watching the series (again) last week, timing is crazy. I still think the show is genius watching it at 19
I loved Kickin It when it was airing, and I rewatched it for the first time last summer and had so much fun doing it.
After I watched this video on Patreon I started rewatching this show and it's so chaotic 💀🤣
the comparison for milton’s dad was on point i’ve always wondered why he looked familiar 🤦🏽♀️
Labrats, Kickin it, Zeke and Luther and also Kick Buttowski were all classics.
Nostalgia has dropped PEAK again, keep up the hard work and pace, we are almost at 50K 🔥🙌
Undercover.
@@TheTekkenguyoh yeah I remember Taylor...yeah she couldn't replace Kim
Fun fact! In Romanian, this show still had the original title of Wasabi Warriors, just translated
You bringing up Psych and The Middle is crazyyyyy
They’re like possibly my two favourite sitcoms ever, especially since they’re one of the rare ones that has aged pretty well, and I think most of the casts of both are pretty cool too
Nah cause that chocoballs plot is literally the cheese jerky plot from Hannah Montana and I REFUSE to believe that wasn't an intentional callback since Jason Earles is involved with both plots. 😭
I won’t lie, this video lowkey feels like a thinly veiled excuse to roast basketball players. 😂
The Allen Iverson one was personal. I saw him at a Popeyes once and he refused to talk to me.
Kickin it will always be my favorite series growing up, I’m glad others enjoy it too even now (also talking about it makes it better)
5:26 I remember as a kid seeing Jeremy Renner in the Avengers and thought "Oh, it's that guy from Kickin' It"
Milton looks like a younger, ginger "Drew Gooden"
ive given you like 10 watch hours from watching this to sleep for multiple days, and rewatching from the last part i remember when im awake 😭
I'm sure Schneider was punched himself when he realized that this show with barefoot teenagers on a consistent and logical basis wasn't his idea.
💀💀💀💀
Just so you know when watching your video with headphones from 33:00 to like 1:00:00 you can only hear the audio from one side of the headphones before and after that audio is perfectly fine
thats odd, i edited this entire video with headphones on and i never had that issue
Edit: i just used my earbuds to listen to that portion and i dont have that on my end. idk what happened
Jesus you’d think reed was just as snobby as nevel with how many roles he plays like this lol
Random fact but Jerry's character Mateo Arias makes amazing music now and is best friends with Jaden Smith
I love how the show canonically has ghost, cyborgs, and magic. It’s so random and I love it
I love how
All I remember from this show is that Kofi Kingston was in it (wrestlers in Disney Shows is something that happened to quite a few Disney Channel/XD shows).
Who remembers Rey Mysterio in Zeke and Luther? Or the Miz in Pair of Kings?
Super nostalgic show for me, hope it hasn't aged too badly
I’d say that overall it aged fine! Because it was the early 2010s, there were some moments that didn’t, but it was good show.
ITS FINALLY HAPPENING!
my favorite eddie moment was when he was singing get the ninjas in the wasabi introduction episode. Also i did find it sad he left as while in the 2 seasons he was on he didn't do much he had potentinal lines like how he was the first to join the dojo which i think could have made for a very interesting eddie/rudy episode but alas the time he spent on the show i did find him enjoyable.
Bro was honestly my fav character he just normal nun special im him he me
The schnoz is a zeke and Luther reference fun fact, there's a whole bit in one episode where Luther pretends to be the schnoz
The only show that has laughtrack thats actually funny
Not even close to the only one.
Oh ma bad i forgot to put "me" the only show that made me laugh that has a laughtrack cuz every other show that has one just makes me wanna punch the screen
i think its interesting that people compare cobra kai so much to this cause kickin it was super obviously inspired by karate kid in a lot of ways, and obviously cobra Kai is
words cannot describe how much i love this show
I remember watching the first few episodes of this show and immediately thought “I want to be part of this.” I was around 15-16 years old at the time. I was around the same age as the actors and perfect for the setting. I was also taking WuShu and had experience with Taekwondo.
Talking about Kickin’ It while making a lot of random basketball references… I love this video
Damn. I remember when Disney XD launched. I was like in 6th grade at the time and I loved that shit. Zeke and Luther was amazing. It took me years to even realize that the black guy that was their rival was fucking cookie on Ned's declassified.
Kojo! He was easily the best character on the show.
1:07:25 It’s a reference to the end of the 1982 film “An Officer and a Gentleman”
Dude, you mentioning Aaron stone at the beginning of this video has somehow unlocked a memory of mine. I used to watch that show a bunch as a kid but I didn’t remember anything about it at all until you mentioned it just now. Wow.
Bro that's crazy I was thinking about the theme song and jacks catchphrase and wondering when someone would do that retrospective
1:56:03 I love Rudy and Kim holding back Kai’s lackeys but letting Kai fight Jack because they know he can handle him one on one
Oh man, so happy seeing this video blow up!! Hope it brings more people to check out your channel, you deserver the hype!
I am so glad someone did a retrospective for this video. Im glad i found your channel because usually i look for this stuff on Keyan Carliles channel but this channel is just as good if not better
