Hello Scott, an interesting railroad this AC&J Railroad, with two great diesel locomotives. The GE U23B is not seen that often. This branch line and the work are very nicely filmed. Thanks for showing and best regards
The AC&J used to offer rides in their pass. cars + caboose, you could ride in the cupola if you were lucky. They also used to invite a 0-4-0 saddletank steamer for an occasional weekend!
On the other side of the state the Shortlines are all EMD this also applies to Southern and Central Michigan, and Even Northern Indiana I think. Still very grateful that no shortline by me has Dash 9s.
Scott, I really enjoyed this video! Your scene composition is really good. Not just trains passing by. Question about your audio. I really like the fact that you don't play music in your videos. You record the sound of the trains. Is your microphone in the drone or on the ground? Other videographers told me they play the music because you can't hear the trains if they record them from the drone. Is that true?
I love these kind of rural short lines. Fascinating power and a delightful smalltown ambience
Too bad Kansas pulled up all their tracks like these. With all the grain grown here now they could save a lot of truck traffic.
@@tommyhunter1817 cost a Fortune to put them back though and they would have to be torn up again because they went belly up in the first place
I grew up in Jefferson. The former elementary school was in sight of these tracks. I always preferred watching trains to 5th grade math!
Well-made video capturing AC&J and their operations.
Just catching these old engines running is fun enough! Thanks for letting us listen to those prime movers !
Excellent video,.

Enjoyed the video
Bummer you left us in suspense. Where were those cars going?.
all they need is a d.p. u unit on these super fast freight trains lol
Awesome footage…. Do you know if the U-boat was an old Conrail? What kind if drone do you use?
The number of the U23 would fit in the Conrail numbering, for those locos--- might be!
These guys have any type of pattern for when they operate?
Without knowing anything about this operation, it kind of looks like they’re one bad month or severe weather event away from going away…but hope not.
That's not true they have been around since the 80's and have handled all kinds of freight. It's an very interesting rr to check out.
the closest thing to modern FP&E
I noticed the light stand on the engineer's side of the U25B,is that unit a RCU (remote control unit)??
That's a U23B.
