Holmes got a lot of his results by many a devious way, that a police man nor a normal official detective would not dare use. Faking illness is one of his specialties, and catalepsy is most suited when he'd want to buy some time or turn attention away from himself.
Back in the days when the doctor asked you questions and didn't have you fill out a questionnaire. More personal approach, more work, but given the knowledge of the day, well done.
"Never trust bankers, never." So true now ;)
"Yes I know I've done it myself" Brilliant.
I love how Watson sarcastically says that catalepsy is easy to imitate, and then Holmes says "I know I've done it myself". Right back at you, Watson!
Its great banter!
sweet the audio is back on track

The way the guy says "yes" near the beginning of the episode is like Mr Bean!
Mr. Brett looks every bit like 007 at 8:18...pity he was never given the role of James Bond; he'd have been splendid.
Fenton! Fenton!
(I'm just waiting for the "oh jesus christ!")
this english criminal must have had such fun impersonating the russian cataleptic nobleman. I know I would have loved saying "Vodka" like that :-)
pikewerfer I know, it's seems like such a blast playing some of these characters.
at last there a MAN who consults Sherlock Holmes!:)

"Mr. Blessington! This is outrageous sir!" Could there be a more Victorian exclamation?
@KingofStarfox I just watched it, I totally get it now. He sounded so serious when he asked that question that I had to burst out in laughter.
Part 3 is starting out with a good sound track.
🗣️Mrs. Hudson!
Ha! Medieval medicine cabinet.
I agree. Holmes range of knowledge probably is more in the forensics field.
@Imverycute2 Right you are - so glad he gave us Sherlock Holmes. ;D
Heh, traditionally "molest" just means "bother." ;D
MistressD Yup.
Did they have electricity in that period?
No. They did have lights inside as there was gas lighting set up in wealthy homes.
Oh my gosh haha. "Then why do they wish to molest you" OMG Blessington's face when Holmes says that....it could almost be made out as sexual!!! Pahaha
Why does everyone have to interpret every gesture in this episode as homosexual?
