    As a reptile keeper and educator, shows that put animals in high stress situations really peeves me more than anything. Yes, of course an animal will bite you when locked in a tiny cage with no way to escape from intrusions. Snakes' go to plan is always escape if possible. They get defensive if need be.

      On top of which, they make her move her head around in a way that's going to agitate the snakes. And they picked what looks like a central carpet (fine)... but also a jungle carpet (not used to people? Might well take a shot at you.) So they were hoping for what they got.

    We had a security guard get commendations for saving a life. She had just received CPR training a couple weeks earlier since she was being posted in a hospital. Sure enough, a child started showing signs of choking, and their mom was in a panic. The security guard was closest, performed the Heimlich Maneuver, and the child expelled whatever was caught in his throat before medical staff even got there.
    Turns out the mom was a nurse. She wasn't incompetent or anything. It's just that much different when it's a loved one who's in trouble.

      Oh, 100%. It's the same principle as how when it's someone else stressed out, were like "oh, take it easy, mate. Have a day off and a snack.". But when it is us, we're like "ALL REST IS A SIGN OF WEAKNESS."
      The closer we get to our own spaces, the less objective and on the ball we are. The more our personal trauma responses take over.

    Hey! Oral surgery assistant here! If your wisdom teeth ARE bothering you, please DO NOT wait to have them looked at. As Dr. Mike stated they can cause cysts which can lead to infection, which can lead to major bone loss and trauma. In one case, a young lady permanently lost feeling to one side of her lower jaw and tongue due to the size of the cyst that had to be removed and the permanent nerve damage it caused. Please do not wait!! The consequences are no bueno.

    • @gobby560
      @gobby560 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you are correct. Pulling any teeth from the mandible can have a risk of permanent nerve damage. For most people, most of the molars will be in close proximity to the mandibular nerve aka a branch of the trigeminal nerve

      Would the gums being half grown over the teeth be considered "bothering" or is that normal?

    • @gobby560
      @gobby560 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is definitely considered bothersome! Especially since bacteria can still get trapped under the gum tissue causing decay and discomfort.

    • @oki__
      @oki__ 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cabinfever5730I’m assuming you mean the teeth aren’t fully ruptured.
      The typical problems this could cause are due to food getting stuck under the gum and not being able to get cleaned properly, eventually causing decay & infections.
      Most people need their wisdom teeth removed at some point.
      When you’re young it’s good to see a dentist so that they can keep an eye on your dental health & if you need your wisdom teeth removed.
      You might have some pains from your teeth moving but if there is pain such as aching or throbbing then you should see a dentist. It is best to see a dentist about removal before it becomes an infection like this.
      Hope that helps.

    For the Australian comments.
    "Copped a serious flogging" = subjected to a lot of force/bad injury. (flogging from when people were flogged with whips and cat'o'nine tails.
    "pulling up stumps" = we had to finish (in this context early). Usually meaning something happened to cause us to finish/stop what we were doing. It comes from the sport of cricket, where when the game ends the players/umpires will pull the stumps out of the ground (stumps being the upright wooden poles that make up the wicket) "Pulling up stumps"

    That Whose Line clip is a classic. The game was for her to guess who the comedians were impersonating (they were given quirky identities on a secret card), and Ryan's was "Carol Channing whose head keeps getting stuck to things." One of her teammates got hit in the head with the butt of the rifle during practice one day and started bleeding a lot (even though it was a small cut). Several teammates took her over to the ER and told the staff she got hit with a rifle. The police showed up a few minutes later, saw the amount of bleeding, and started questioning her. My mom recognized what was going on and insisted on sending her back demanding a new provider. If she had gone to sleep that night, her throat would’ve closed and she would’ve died in her sleep. [8:10] Here's a little medical story for me
    My middle school had bleachers and they're about 8ft high, give or take. I, with a history of falling down stairs, face planted from the top step to the concrete floor and hit my temple. I just casually got up, got on the bus, and went home. Went to the hospital the day after and was perfectly fine, nothing but a single bruise. We're still confused, and I am now banned from going up most bleachers :)

    5:10 To be fair, superficial face injuries, especially near the eye, tend to bleed a lot! I took a tumble while rollerblading once as a kid and got a cut just under my right eye. My face was covered in blood before I could even walk home 10 minutes later.

    There was once a show here, where celebrities learned to ride horses. Only one of them was eliminated, because they did badly in a challenge. One got kicked of for hitting the horse and everyone else had to leave, because of an injury. Dangerous sport, huh.

      Far too many people underestimate and do not respect that horses are a half-ton animal that is two seconds away from freaking out in the right circumstances at all times. I've been thrown, kicked, and bitten many times, but I still love them so much.

      @@g5rearea I know and some of the horses were not the kind you'd give to a beginner. One of them was only five. People should know that animals are not toys you can just do whatever with.
      The whole idea was crazy, but I think that mad reality tv was kind of a thing in the 00's.

    After a fall on stairs where I landed with full body weight on one butt cheek near the sacrum, hitting just the stair edge, I had fat necrosis causing a permanent bump + a deep dent to develop on that side.over a few months. It was thankfully numb immediately from the pressure of the massive, rapid bruising and trauma, and stayed that way for months. It still has impaired sensation many years later.

    3:45 Just had a tiny avulsion fracture a few months ago. Not to serious, just had a little bruising line along the side of my ankle but I think most of the pain was from my sprained ankle. Eventually was able to wear a boot and get my ankle healed back up. The doctor said I needed to do a follow up appointment but my parents said that it was so small that I didn't need one, lucky me.

    12:01 it really reminded me of Mykie (Glam & Gore) her injury when she slipped and fell in the shower era
    Dr Mike did a video with her where they looked at horror movie injuries to see how accurate they are

    Flogging is basically what every Aussie kid feared when their parents said they were going to get a flogging

      Convicts were flogged as a regular punishment so that's why is entered the Australian lexicon.

    My husband responded as an EMT to my first anaphylaxis (I developed Mast Cell Activation Syndrome due to hEDS and POTS), and I have to say, neither of us recommend it. He spent several months having nightmares about having to respond to other emergencies of mine.
