Another thing I absolutely *adore* about kneaded erasers, is how gentle they are to the paper. Unlike virtually every other eraser in existence, they don't change the paper's surface. There will always be a slight difference when you use a regular eraser, because of friction. But there's no real friction when it's a kneaded eraser, especially if you just dab the graphite (or coal) away. It is a *lifesaver* when sketching, I love mine to bits.
I remember these from elementary school, they left a mess on your hands when they got really dirty and when they dry out they no longer fold after some time
This video sure was kneaded! Thanks for the upload Ms Leslie! Edit: and by the way, idk why mine is so sticky, i got it at 5 below with a colored pencil set
We used to get these at bookfairs in school that were in book shaped or suitcase shaped containers. I absolutely loved them for everything, especially the scented ones. I'm sure they still sell them in some places i just graduated and haven't seen my siblings with them lol
You can also make a diy kneaded eraser, here's how : First get post it notes and a normal/old eraser. Erase the eraser on the sticky part of post it notes. If you want to make it's size as normal kneaded erasers, then you're gonna need alot of post it notes ( I've made a small one like a little smaller than the one you showed you use to erase charcoal, and it took 40-45 post it notes) And you can also use tape if you don't have post it notes. Sorry for big comment, also hope this helps
In my experience you should have a pretty air tight container for the eraser, my first one I kept in the paper covering it came with and it dried up into an unuseable rock. Not nice. I put my new one in a kinder surprise egg and it's stayed perfect 👌
I think some brands are more prone to drying out, and I’m not sure why. Maybe they add something besides the rubber during manufacturing. I’ve had the occasional one that gets hard and unusable, but they are usually from a non-brand source.
I also have kneaded eraser but whenever I use it, it becomes so sticky and also leaves residue on my fingers. Can you please tell me what can I do with it
I have noticed that some brands (or generic ones) are just terrible. They are too hard, brittle or sticky and there isn’t much you can do with them. A little stickiness is normal at first and should improve after you use it a bit. But try to buy one from an art manufacturer.
THANK YOU SO MUCH I have kneaded eraser but I thought it was an normal one and when i saw I was soooo happy!. I was also happy cause I’ve always wanted one of these, lol.
My cousins love my kneaded eraser, just because of the fact it’s moldable. They like to call it a slime eraser, cause it reminds them of slime I guess.
I roll mine over my graphite sketches before painting. It picks up any loose graphite and lightens the sketch; that way it doesn't smear when painting and the sketch doesn't stand out when I'm done!
Dear Leslie, im going to drawing course and I bought one to rub my drawing clean. That is great how it is used I always wanted to build little rubber ducks thanks for showing. Many greetings 😊❤
ohh i legit forgot you could rub them on the paper to erase, ive only been pressing! i like them a lot since they're gentler on paper, i love the texture my sketchbook paper has but it's a little delicate
So i bought a kneaded earaser from Faber castle It is blue , is that fake And btw will the earaser dry if i leave it out of the box Mine came in a small box then wrapped in plastic
You can also make them at home by yourself without wasting money, but also, this is gonna waste probably an hour of your time. All you need is an eraser or sticky notes, and then rub the eraser on the sticky part of a sticky note, and then gather them together and I need it together and then you’ll have something like that. If you want an even bigger portion, you can just do that all over again. Hope this helps.
Hello, thank you very much again for sharing. Could you please make a video about the professional watercolors that you recommend buying first??? thank you so much!!!~🌸🌸🌸
I will add it to my list for sure. I can tell you now that my personal favourites are Winsor and Newton. But if you like super bright colours Schmincke and Sennelier are white nice. Daniel Smith and M. Graham are great but much more pricey! 😊
Could you explain how to clean em my kneadable eraser that my friend gave me is dirty af and i tried using water, soap and even hot water eith soap but it doesnt clean
Thanks for telling us these things about kneaded erasers, your tips always helps a lot,
Have a good day Leslie ✨
You’re welcome, Priya. Have a lovely day yourself. ❤

They really are great. And fun to play with too. 😊

i used to buy the white ones and color them
You can wash them when they get too dirty. 😊
Your channel is so inspiring, as an artist in artist block now I want to draw
That brings me so much joy. ❤

Sometimes cheap (no brand) ones are not very good. They can be too hard or sticky. It’s best to try to get one from a known art manufacturer.
@@LeslieStroz Thanks a lot Ms Leslie stroz!
They're also brilliant fidget toys for when ur procrastinating on a drawing.......it honestly very relaxing to play with
Completely! 🤗
Something I learned many years ago. When using a needed eraser is to swipe it one direction to remove pencil. It works faster and better.
✨yuck.✨
Thank you for the information, now I can upgrade my eraser collection!
😊❤
The kneaded Imposter
😅😂

I’ve never had a scented one! Now I’m on the hunt for one. 😅
Oh no! Now I'm kicking myself for throwing away my dirty ones! 😄 Thank you for explaining this!
That yucky eraser looked so tasty haha 😅 I want cookies now

My adhd would love this
Looks so fidgety❤

it looks so fun to play with 👀
Wow i surely try it
Got my first ones yesterday and figured them out immediately! Though I did have to watch a tutorial for when I inevitably have to clean them.
I really wasn't looking for this, but truly this is something I kneaded.
thnku mam for the details
When i first bought a kneaded eraser, I didnt know those things were hard to touch!
My cousins love my kneaded eraser, just because of the fact it’s moldable. They like to call it a slime eraser, cause it reminds them of slime I guess.
One of my friends bought a bunch of these and used them like clay, molding heads that resembled our teachers 🤣
They are great for that! 😊
Been using these since I turned 14
I always thought of it as an art eraser
That cute lil duck 🥹✨
Lets just take some time and appreciate that she hearted and replied to every single comment
Made this unintentionally in class
This is extremely helpful!! Thank You!!
I bought one and it’s hard as a rock.
omg i never knew they didn't leave residue. i felt too guilty about making a mess so i never sketched anywhere i couldn't blow off the excess
You can use by rolling it over the area to soften the pencil marks
Why does TH-cam never stop making me hungry
Im first! Ty for telling the fake one ❤ also-....
Can u reply to me if u can im a big fan or ursssss ❤❤
The fake one was such a shock to me when I first moved to England. I bought a box of the regular ones and gave them to all of my students. 😅
@@LeslieStroz ohh that must be quite a bummer- buying something and it ends up working like crap!
It once happened to me but with acrylics
@@ii_Stxr It’s bound to happen, I suppose, but sometimes you discover hidden gems by buying different things. 😊
I love playing with those type of erasers.
Me too 🥰
I wanted them so bad
I saw many videos to make that at home
I tried but i always failed
Now i just use small erasers
I love ur videos❤
I once bought the imposter but I somehow managed to fix it by mixing it with clay another kneaded eraser and some lotion.
STOP WAIT I HAD THESE I DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE
I roll mine over my graphite sketches before painting.
It picks up any loose graphite and lightens the sketch; that way it doesn't smear when painting and the sketch doesn't stand out when I'm done!

Oh thank you 😅
Hello! Im going to buy kneaded erasers today because i have trouble with the normal erasers😅
Thank you for the tips ❤❤❤
You’re welcome! 😊❤
OMG thanks 🙏 you ❤❤❤❤
Faber Castel- these art brands is such a masterpiece..! 👌👌
I got generals One today at hobby lobby
When I got my first one in a pencil set I thought it was blue tack LOL
Thank you for telling me this. I have a charcoal drawing kit with this eraser by faber castell
You can also make them: knead eraser crumbs together! If you need help with it, you can find tutorials on how to make them AND stick together!
ohh i legit forgot you could rub them on the paper to erase, ive only been pressing! i like them a lot since they're gentler on paper, i love the texture my sketchbook paper has but it's a little delicate
Yes! You can rub things out with them. 😊
If I bought it to school my friends would probably steal all of it😂
Heyy I love you videos!! And you are also very nice and I just wanted to ask that can a beginner artist or new artist use it??😅❤
Your videos are amazing
Thank you! ❤
Oh so its supposed to be like stiffish?
I would go crazy without my kneaded eraser! Best thing since sliced bread! 😂
I WANT IT (reason: same like clay)
I made a red one lol (with normal rubber you can find tutorials)
So i bought a kneaded earaser from Faber castle
It is blue , is that fake
And btw will the earaser dry if i leave it out of the box
Mine came in a small box then wrapped in plastic
No that is Not fake but the colored ones are actually for school and just for fun and the same like the grey ones😉
It’s legit! 😊 And no, it won’t dry out if you don’t store it, but it will collect dust.
@@LeslieStroz okkii
My art teacher has these
Im thinking of getting a pen with this rubber that rubbs the PLACK PEN MARK OFF!

lol I make these when I finish the exam and have nothing to do
So it has a properties of a rubber and a gum -bungee gum- thanks for reminding.
When I got one, I tried pulling it and it was hard like a rock
Yes bro i made it as a pen!s
❤❤❤
The faber castell makes colored kneaded erasers and thos are no really strong in erasing not like the solidity but it works bad for me 😅
Did you know that bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum?
I have one of Faber-Castell that has its own case for the eraser!
I love that they do that. 😊
this was a great time waster in architect class i made a little snowman out of it
They are always a crowd pleaser! 😊
Fun fact: you can also use blu tack as a kneaded eraser!
omg i have one
Do you know where to get these like at any art stores?
Gum erasers are the yellow erasers that crumble so they’re not the same
Those are Art Gum erasers 😊
I have the first one 😃😃😃😃😩😩😩😊
The eraser:HELP ME IM IN SOMEONES MOUTH
I have one
I ordered the Faber Castell blue yellow and pink!
Edit: I can't get the grey ones there to expensive so yeah 1k, in rupees

I love this video! Idk if it’s only me, but why do I feel like mines much stretcher? (Not showing off I swear just pointing out something)❤
Faber castle do sell them as well?
Do they dry out? I’m a young artist and I’m very new to kneaded erasers and I want to know how to keep the squishiness of them!
You can make it an home with a eraser rough rough does come out for the from the eraser and you can on play aur drawing
Wow that’s kneat
i was too scared to use my kneaded eraser and it’s just been sitting in the packaging for probably a year now…
I want one I'm just kidding I already have one😊😊😊
I had one but it's hard
interesting!
What if they are hard and absolutely won’t mold?
So its basically a clay mixed with eraser rubber?
Will it ever dry?
I have one but mine is harden
Interesting video but when she mentioned the imposter one it is not a fake version it is just a bad quality Version
Can you share a tutorial on how to make them
I’ve heard you can make them from bread, but I’d worry it wouldn’t be archival.
@@LeslieStroz with eraser?
I have one.😂😂😂😂 It's time school.
Where did you get that
Could you explain how to clean em my kneadable eraser that my friend gave me is dirty af and i tried using water, soap and even hot water eith soap but it doesnt clean
