I agree with you on the City Jungle sets. It's really cool them bringing back Johnny Thunder, but his insertion in the "lore" of these City exploration sets is kinda odd. The way I'm justifying it in my mind is that the Company doing these arctic/jungle explorations just hired Johnny on as a guide into the jungle. So, he's not an employee or anything, so he doesn't have to adapt to the color scheme.
To the battle pack's build's credit, it does connect to the bunker from the Gideon set, and can attach on either side. Its still not the greatest, but it does expand the scene which is neat.
I wish the jungle theme vehicles were just olive green. They'd look so much better. Orange and white just screams space to me Also, i saw the lego delivery truck early at Costco!
I agree with you on the Batmobile Chris. For an animated series Batmobile with collectible plaque and considering Batman’s suit doesn’t match the car, and for 60 DOLLARS, it’s not high up on my priority list. Maybe if I’m lucky they’ll do a second release later in black, but I doubt it. I’m more interested in Barad Dur, the Dark Millenium Falcon later this year, and that Cole mech. My wallet is going to cry enough as it is LOL
It would be cool if those sound bricks could record custom sounds or messages. Re the chess set, the pieces need to be weighted. Have the harry potter one; great for display but the pieces feel to light when trying to play a chess game.
Nah that's the correct take on captain rex and you actually explained the perspective better than other lego youtubers talking about rex... exclusive at the time makes complete sense and they do it all the time, the only bad thing is it's already sold out and need to backorder... i'm sure people will try to still charge $100 + like just two days ago on whatnot lmao
I only collect minifigs and resell the sets. I was happy to buy venator for both figs and sell the set ( resold for approx 550$) I'm reassured it's original and not someone's build remake with original lego parts. I'm not bitter due to making my money back mostly and to have the reassurance of originality. Each to there own options about this to what people do with their Legos personality.
i’m personally very glad that the UCS Captain Rex minifigure is gonna be available in a super cheap set now. exclusivity is a terrible concept honestly and really only benefits greedy corporations and executives. now, a bunch of children and collectors are gonna be able to get a great Rex fig at a great price!
They should've put it in a cheaper set but dialed down on the details, like give them a normal trooper head, maybe without arm printing, keeping that fig exclusive too yk.

Besides take the word exclusive with a grain of salt anyway. I’m not sorry you paid a lot of money for a big Venator when everyone else has waited for them to release him in a cheaper set. It makes perfect sense logistically to only produce one version of a figure for 2 sets.

Same with the 2d Microseries from 2003, plus the Holiday Special from 1978 (which includes the old short about Boba Fett,) and the old Ewok movies, which are all also legends, so are you watching these?

@@ClassicStudStudios the minifigure just seems to have a lot of swagger to him with that faceprint and with him being one of the “leaders” of the other minifigure team. I think someone mentioned that they might be trying to tell a story with the same minifigures in each subtheme. It almost seems like the adventures they are going on make them the updated Adventurers gang and maybe they are learning from the older, more experienced Johnny Thunder. I wonder if this is what they are planning to mirror in the tv show…. 🤔 🧐
I didn't buy a venator, but I can understand some people are upset by the microfighter. Say, your favorite character comes out in a massive set. You like the build, but that fig, just the apple of your eye 🤌. You wait a few months, see it on discount. You have just enough saved up to swing it without going broke, and make a somewhat rash decision. Fulfillment, at great financial expense 😂 A few months later, that exact figure comes out in a microfighter. What you thought was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your favorite figure, you see was now not so. You can't sell that huge brick of cash for nearly as much as you bought it, and something that felt special is now feeling commonplace. I'm not advocating for total exclusivity. I think everybody should have easy opportunity to acquire their favorite characters in fig form - but it would be appropriate for lego to respect the huge expense their fans had incurred. Change a small print, just something insignificant to those without the figure, to distinguish it for those with the figure. If it was microfighter first, venator second, then chef's kiss, no one has been truly blindsided. Those who want what they want, get it for what it should cost. I feel this was disingenuous of the brand. That all said, I look forward to purchasing a microfighter!
