My father was with Major Lowry for the duration of the war. He’s mentioned a couple of times in Lowry’s memoir published in 1946 (reprinted in 2003). Dad was the lone L/Corporal of the 28 that survived (20.18 minute). I can vividly recall him telling me about the grenade duel. Fantastic series. 👍🏻♥️👍🏻

Been keen on this set of casts and boy has it initiated a coincidental situation for me. I'm a graphic designers nad just been chosen to work with the James Fenton Collection which will be exhibited in Lacock (Wiltshire). Mr Fenton is the writer of The Firgotten Army (having served with the 14th) at the age of 102 is still as sharp as you like. I'm going to thank you both for this little bit of synchronicity- keep the good work Gentlemen, looking forward to more. David.

Much as the comedy Brummie accent is amusing, Slim didnt move to Birmingham until his teens, prior to that he was born and raised in Bristol, so a wesr countrt country bumkin accent would have been appropriate..... Otherwide love the pods
As for soldiers moaning, at Sandhurth we were taught that when they stopped moaning you were in trouble as a leader!!!!
