Hi Annemarie, greetings from the Seattle area. My name is Miguel and I am one of your many followers here on TH-cam. I have lived in the US for 20 years now and I have worked really hard at improving my speaking skills in English. I consider myself an advanced level student but I still lack the confidence to hold long conversations. I tend to get stuck in the middle of conversations when I mispronounce or forget a word that I need. That situation makes me feel nervous and deters me from speaking anymore. But by watching your videos, listening to your voice and practicing your wonderful suggestions, I am gaining confidence on a daily basis. My goal is to save up enough money to join your fluency school in the future. Thank you so much for posting these amazing and helpful videos for all of us non-native speakers of English!!!

Hi Miguel, thanks so much for the comment! I'm thrilled to know that my lessons are helping you gain the confidence you've been seeking for so long! I hope they continue to do so. And we'd certainly love to have you join a future Fluency School course! Best wishes as you continue on your English confidence journey!

Annemarie you're perfect. We'll never thank you enough.
I just make an observation, instead of using the expression "lazy speech", when using contractions, I prefer use "practical speech". If I think in the amount of ideas I have, and the best way to put them on phrases, writting or vocal, contractions come to give me a really good help.

Excellent point, Gabriel! Contractions certainly are practical in spoken communication. Thanks for adding your comments on this.

Most people say it's not grammatically correct. Where I'm from, it isn't acceptable or commonly used, however in some parts of the United States it is accepted. It's important to know what's common where you live.

The word "Elide" rhymes with "Collide"
    ɪˈlaɪd
    should not be pronounced like
    "Elid!"
