no, there weren't any judges or any prizes. In my opinion it would go with cumulative points to Tanner and the best wave to Jeff. Jeff's big air revo wave was nuttz. He had a deep barrel on that wave which I missed to record. At least I got his revo at the end of the wave. Mike worked very hard to make this boogjam a thing, in only 3 days. There were some hiccups with the permit holder, only issued 7 days which makes it hard to hold a contest. I mean we want to see these athletes at their best in great pipe conditions. I only knew (and I'm most of the riders) a day in advance. I'm adamant about this. The WSL gets 3 contests with ample time permitted to run their contests. Bodyboarders should be given the same consideration as the surfers when the permitting committee issues the permits. But I sure as hell don't want IBC over here mucking things up with their track record. I can say that things are looks good for next 3 years for bodyboarding competition, possibly pipe and for sure in Hawaii with The So Stoked Boogie Series. Bodysurfing competition deserves the same if not more consideration because they were the first to hold a competition at pipe (grandfathered in). The Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic was held in February 1971 and nearly a year later was the Pipe masters in December 1971.
Would be sick if we could start a volunteer organisation of contest organising a world tour instead of these IBC clowns mounting all kinds of sh!t. All you need are cameras, a feed and some volunteer judges.
Tanner was on fire
Sweet!!!! So much better than the IBC!!!
Never seen a double up like that at Pipe……big Sandy’s hahaha.
So sick! I want to know more. Was there a winner?

Today
was Saturday
NO DROPKNEE? IM OUT
Tanner is the least interesting surfer in years. He rips but his style is so bland and has zero flavour. He’d be a nobody if he was from Australia
