I enjoyed the comradely interaction between the two older Rangers in this scene. Though they were from different castes, they seemed to be friends and could gently make fun of each other to their mutual amusement.
Oh bless the Pak'Ma'Ra for listening to their inner voices. Have the dvd boxset of babylon 5, and enjoy watching it. I don't want to spoil it, but, this is an memorable episode. Worth watching.
I always found it interesting that the bone ridges on Minbari heads developed differently based on caste, the warrior caste was all spiky and angular while the religious caste was curving and graceful, you don’t see enough worker caste to see how there’s grow though which is a shame.
I can't remember where I read it, but if I recall correctly, the bone crests grew constantly as they aged, and they carved their crests to reflect their beliefs and personalities. Religious caste seem to emphasize symmetry and harmony in the carving, while Warrior caste are carved into more aggressive and imposing appearing ridges.
@@siyanoq they grow until they're fully adult according to what I've read (in human years, that would be about age 25-27) and throughout their maturation, they shape and carve the crests. who knew the Centuri Emperor reincarnated as a Mimbari ;)

A true crime is that we never got to see a pak'ma'ra Ranger beating up bad guys with his staff.
They use smaller staves ... chop sticks.
If he'd been the one to beat the crap out of the thug, the thug would never live it down and would likely off himself in shame.
Is it just me or do the pak'ma'ra look like mind flayers from DnD?
I imagine the clean-up after the beating up wouldn't be too much of a problem.
@@mikecimerian6913 Only if the enemy is properly cooked xD (To somewhat Quote Sheridan :P).
The actor who plays the old minbari is the same actor who played Emperor Turhan of the Centauri Republic.
Turhan Bey! An actor so notable they decided to name the Emperor after him.
Other way round for me. I heard the voice and wondered why it was familiar.
same with Prime Minister Malachi

I love the fact that a valid role was ultimately found for the Pak'ma'ra.
I was waiting for the teacher to say, " As quickly as you can. Snatch the pebble from my hand."

Minbari humor revolves around the subject of enlightenment.
"Babylon 5, the home of peace " Very next scene is a big fight on the station :P
@Dr. M. H. I don't think B5 is a place where they require a lot of jinxing for a fight to break out. That is almost a scheduled event.
_It failed._
I'm feeling robbed too
The home of peace is rarely peaceful. This Minbari will quickly learn how hard-won peace can be.

Unfortunately not. One was played by Paul Boehmer (who also played quite a few roles in ST shows) while Tannier by Brendan Ford.
