Great concepts. Sometimes simple works best. The ice texture on Montreal and Toronto looks and works well for them. Colorado, Ottawa, Minnesota and Vancouver are looking sharp!
Mike Vernon and Manny Legace are two Red Wings goalies who have mirrored the logo and I liked the results.
Manny Legace and Mike Vernon both wore masks with a mirrored Red Wings logo similar to that.

Being a goalie, i always prefered a white cage. Felt like it blended in well with the ice and boards so i wouldnt notice it as much
My top 3 is Tampa, Minnesota and San Jose
My favourite goalie masks are Ottawa, LA, and Washington

I hope the combination of the main logo and the arch on the Blues mask was supposed to look like headphones cause it would fit the name of the team.
That Tampa Bay Lightning is by far the best one IMO..visually striking(no pun intended) 😏
In my opinion are the best ones these: NY Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights, Minnesota Wilds, San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils. (It is not in order of how I like it, I remembered it in this order)
EA sports should take some notes. A lot of their in-game masks haven't been updated since nhl 10! Those are good looking, yet simple designs, that could be very easily implemented in the game.

@@Post2PostProductions wasn’t being mean bud. just making a joke. um, in the reaction videos of player goalie masks with your pops, you said several times that you were not a fan of the vertical striping that goes top to bottom on multiple masks.

Detroit. Put Al on the crown of the mask, large winged wheel on each side, and add the vintage Detroit Cougars logo on the lower part of the mask.

I wish the NHL Would take notice of your channel hot ideas..example bruins:: Hopefully someday there will be a home, away, reverse retro, retro, and then a 5th jersey regulations for 5th are" Color scheme can be what ever team chooses(any) Except old color schemes.. But it must be submitted and approved by the league before the design and manufacturing of the jersey.. The only way rejected is if the scheme is picked by another team 1st or the league thinks colors are to close to I'd..This will make all 32 shirts distinguishable from the others so all the teams 5th jerseys can be used as home or away with no problems.. The 5th jerseys can only be used when both teams are wearing them.. The city name must be on the uniform but not necessarily in the new logo if teaam chooses not too (but also it could be on or above new logo, pants, shoulder patch, trim on top or bottom of jersey(neck line or bottom front or back of shirt) Old logo is prohibited... The team name example bruins can not be in New logo but can be in the same places as the city name if choosen but Does not need to be on shirt.. this gives a lot of creativity and maybe some new trends for the future I like the idea the jersey will roll out 7 times a year undisclosed first day Element of surprise! the next 6 days preplanned for marketing strategy... Go to it boys...your next contest by boy

Just found this video because I am starting to play around with painting street hockey goalie masks; thought I might find some ideas. Then I noticed the mailing address of Stratford, PEI. Seems the matrix is messing with me again: I am in Charlottetown.

I always used a Chrome cage
I always get a chrome cage on my buckets
I use a cage that’s black on the outside and white on the inside.
I always use white, I find it blends with the ice better.
@@1985jimmydean my last helmet had a white cage idk why it bugs me
@@Sanchezy804 I get that. A lot of people say it's too bright and prefer the black or chrome / stainless but I used to rock the Hasek style and then the Osgood when I got old enough and the white cage went with the territory.
Got my first mask from an NHL mask maker and had a chrome cage and had to switch back to white after one game.
I don’t think you’ve already done it neil, but I think you should do a ranking on actual goalie masks in the league. I know there are a more than one goalie for each team, but you could choose one from each team that you like the most and present that for each team. Hope that makes sense! I don’t know if any masks beat khudobbin’s dobby mask though....

I disagree with Neil here. As a 'Canes fan this works with some tweaks. On the sides add the alternate logo (kinda like Mrazek had on his mask) and then replace the NHL shield with the 'Canes word mark and you are set!
Idk what others think but I feel the Jets never should have strayed from their first wordmark logo. It was edgier than the baseball script.
Do goalies have different masks for home and away? I always thought they use masks and pads to match both but separate one for alternate or special jerseys.
Almost every goalie in the NHL has a minimum of 2 masks.

As a canes fan I would’ve liked ours more without our logo. Maybe a hurricane effect to it

As a goalie, and even though I love retro designs, I don't like many these. Most of them are way too basic and simplistic, and realistically, the only goalies in the NHL I could see wearing a design like this are Husso and DeSmith.

These were created by the designer prior to the jerseys being released, so they didn't want to create a mask without seeing the official jerseys first.

The Stars are one of my favorite teams. I do not intentionally pay less attention to any team, even the ones I don't like. I didn't have much to say about the Stars mask in this video, that's what it comes down too. There is no conspiracy.
lol...as a fellow Stars fan I will come to his defense on this one...that mask was pretty blah....much like our reverse retro jersey lol (and yes I still bought one!) I WAS hoping for so much more though! (personally I think white is always better as a base for the Stars..it allows the victory green and black to pop more!). On a side note..two of my favorite all time masks were Kari's Chuck Norris and Tombstone masks..check them out if you haven't seen them! :)

FLA, COL, CBJ, MIN, NSH, NYR, OTT, SJ, TOR all seem pretty nice (or at least good starts to something). As a Stars fan...yuck...that mask was one of the worst (black over green does NOT work...not to mention that seemed to be an older and darker green than they use now...unless it is my browser or eyes haha...who knows!) Fun video though!

It does actually. Almost every goalie in the NHL has a minimum of 2 helmets, based on what jersey they are going to wear. Miller for example, has been known to have up to 4 masks in 1 year, depending on how many different jerseys the team plans to wear.
