Wow! You're a smart guy. I found what you did here so illuminating. My passenger side door lock just decided to stop working on my Gen 1. This video made me think about realistically all the variables I should check. I was just going to replace the actuator but like you say - I should check the basics. I knovery little about electrics though. Wish me luck:)
Thank you ☺️ I remove the cable from the door to connect it with new one I welded the cable with new connector and the door lock not works 2 hour checking the cable again gain a gain and the fuses in the car but it is not work . we forget that front fuse in the car 😅 Replaced it and its work properly 😂 Thank you
You have the service manual, if you had the electrical troubleshooting manual you would have seen that you were looking at pin # 5 instead of pin # 16 in other words you were checking for ignition input on the yellow Hatch glass open output yellow wire. Your probably only had a bad Power Door Lock Control Unit and you probably broke the wires in the plug trying to disconnect the connectors inside the door. Pin #1 on the Power Door Lock Control Unit has no connection and pin #8 is the battery input so adjust your pin count accordingly. Your manual should show you the pin configuration and each wire color.
Gen1 drivers door wiring harness 25 pin connector going into the door from the jam, the wires famously breaking breaking off the pins. There was guy making replacement 'pigtails' for the jam side of the harness as the door harness connector seldom seems to have problems; 100 bucks; solder or crimp yourself. Thanks!
Wife has a 99 CRV I originally started with fixing the car clock, well long story short I’ve replaced fuses, checked it with a scan tool , chased a passenger side window not closing issue, swapping spark plugs, oil change some body work next is the drive shaft break lines and now the power locks lol I started with the clock, I couldn’t figure out why my 03 Sonoma wouldn’t turn over so taking a break I’ve learned how to repair all of the things except that darn clock lol was pretty sure I would have got the Sonoma running but dropped the one Torx or T20 bit into the engine compartment and it was to dark to see at night 🙄🤷♂️🤙
Hi ! nice job I haven't investigated my problem much yet, the lock on the driver's door works but not the other door's lock, what do you think ? You really had to work hard on this one ! I'm from Montreal Thanks

My pleasure Nicola. Did you get it sorted out?

I’ve connected the wires directly & it usually works for the day but the next day it stops! Any suggestions?
What wires did you jump together?
I have that same problem on my Honda crv 2002
18:55 fender removal
Any one notice the 20amp fuse was for the power windows?
But did that also fix the window that didn’t work? Also; happen to notice at all if your driver side speaker didn’t work while that bad Module was in?
