There is an error in this course. The sinc function should evaluate to "Tau" @ 0 frequency. Remember (from the Fourier transform), when f is zero, the Laplace integral evaluates to the area under f(t). If the brick-wall function has 1/Tau as its value between -Tau/2 and +Tau/2, then the sinc function (its Fourier transform) would be 1 at f=0.
The concept are misleading ,do not watch the video.In 3:11 the pic shown ,is actually of chebyshev filter design and highest roll off means more flat,more bandwidth.Zero roll off is the steepest . Here , the reverse is told . It took me a lot of time to clear my doubts, so please avoid watching this video.
wtf to get rid of ISI you have to INCREASE the symbol time Ts so that in frequency it will overlap ( with a raised cosine signal) to make a constant frequency respose. This video is wrong and confuses people.
